AP EXAMS INFORMATION 2026
Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. Villa Park High School desires that all students take AP exams for the AP classes that they have taken. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on tuition.
For the 2026 AP exams, students at Villa Park High School will be registering online. Online Exam registration will begin on Monday, September 15, 2025. The AP exam registration process is two steps, but both can be completed in one sitting when the student and parent/guardian do this together. Both steps must be completed in order to have AP exams ordered:
- Step 1: Login to or create your College Board account. https://myap.collegeboard.org
- Step 2: Complete the College Board enrollment process.
- Step 3: Login to or create your Total Registration account. Here you will indicate both the AP courses you are taking this year and the exams you wish to take. You will receive your join codes and directions to complete the second required step. Any exam fees will be paid online so be sure to have a debit card or credit card available before beginning registration. www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/052279.
- Step 4: Use the join codes provided at the completion of step three to enroll the student's AP courses and exams in the College Board's system, if not already done in step two. This step MUST be completed in order for exams to be ordered from the College Board in May.
**Returning AP exam students should use the same email address as last year. Also, all information in Total Registration and College Board MUST match exactly- name, email, etc... Do not use your student email address, please use a personal email account.**
This year each AP exam costs $110. Villa Park High School desires that every student be able to take their AP exams. Students requiring financial assistance should contact Ms. Victoria Luong, vluong@orangeusd.org or Mrs. Shasta Campbell, scampbell@orangeusd.org, in the Counseling Office.

5-Star Digital Student ID - Required for Short Day Release
Hello Spartan Families,
To improve campus security and streamline student dismissal, Villa Park High School is implementing a new procedure for students who leave campus early.
Effective Monday, August 25th, all students who have a Short Day Period or Athletic Release Period will be required to present their 5-Star Student Digital ID card when exiting the security checkpoint in the front of campus.
To be dismissed, the digital ID must display the appropriate Short-Day Release Badge, which will be visible on the student’s 5-Star home screen. This badge verifies their eligibility for an early dismissal.
How to Access Your Digital ID:
Students can access their digital ID by downloading the 5-Star Students app on their mobile device.
No Phone? No Problem.
Students who do not have access to a mobile device can report to the Counseling Office before their dismissal time to receive a short day sticker on their physical ID card. This will serve as their pass to exit campus.
We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe and secure campus for everyone.
Thank you,
Villa Park High School Administration
Student Conduct & Guidelines 2025-2026
Take a moment to review the VPHS Student Conduct & Guidelines for 2025-2026. To give students the best educational experience possible, it's important that students not only are aware of the rules, they abide by them. Administration and staff will make sure to build a culture of accountability so that students may thrive.
- Student Attendance: Students who arrive late to class after the bell rings for each period are tardy. There is a 6-minute passing period to move from class to class. Students who earn 4 tardies will be assigned a lunch detention. We appreciate parent support in encouraging students to be prompt and show up to classes on time!
- Student Conduct Guidelines 25-26: Outline of student behavior and consequences administered by Student Services (Discipline). Please take a moment to review school policies on the following topics:
- Attendance Policy
- Saturday School & Loss of Activities
- Lunch Detention
- Campus Deliveries
- Dress Code
- Student Parking
Click Here to Review Student Conduct Guidelines
- Attendance: Parents must call or deliver a note to the Attendance Office within 72 hours to clear a student's absence. Students will be held accountable for their attendance through lunch detentions or Saturday School for unexcused absences. If a student is absent from school, they must provide an excuse for an absence (Illness, Personal, Medical Appointment, etc.). Calls to attendance can be made to (714) 532-8020.
Schoolwide Consequences - Detention & Saturday School
Students:
Be advised that Detentions have carried over from last year for all current 10th, 11th, and 12th graders.
VPHS is committed to holding students accountable for their actions and promotes good decision-making and responsibility. To these ends, we offer a diverse system of accountability to allow students to "work off" their earned detentions:
- Attend Lunch Detention (Mon. through Fri. Room 205)
- Attend Saturday School (offered 2 times per month, 8am - 12pm, Room 205)
- Dress for Success Mondays - Dress Professionally to school, 2 detentions off
- College Thursdays & Spirit Fridays - Wear College gear on Thursdays and VP gear on Fridays, 1 detention off for participation.
If a student is assigned lunch detention or Saturday School, Mr. Pongco will notify students as well as parents. It is each student's responsibility to serve the appropriate consequences in a timely manner. Lunch detentions should be served the same week they are assigned. Saturday School must be served at the soonest available date.
Should you have any questions, please contact Mr. Pongco or Mrs. Zlaket in the Counseling Office.

Homecoming Court
Villa Park High School kicked off its Homecoming festivities with the announcement of the 2025 Homecoming Court, a group of outstanding students recognized for their leadership, character, and Spartan pride. The selection process began with student nominations from grades 9 through 12, giving peers the opportunity to recognize senior classmates who exemplify school spirit and involvement.
After nominations closed, candidates participated in interviews with a panel of teachers who evaluated their campus involvement, leadership qualities, and ability to represent Villa Park High School with integrity. From that process, the panel selected the top ten finalists. These ten students were crowned as the official Homecoming Court during the Fall Sports Assembly on September 29.
Students will have the chance to cast their votes for Homecoming King and Queen beginning Monday, October 6, through the 5-Star Student app. The Queen will be crowned at the HOCO Game on October 17th, and the King will be crowned at the Homecoming Dance on October 18th, marking one of the most anticipated moments of the season.

Spartan Spotlights
Spartan Spotlight, New to Our School: Hannah Savage
So far, one of Hannah’s favorite memories this year has been playing golf and bonding with her teammates on and off the course. Looking ahead, she’s excited for winter break, the end of the school year, and the chance to step into her next chapter as a sophomore.
Spartan Spotlight, New to Our School: Avery Rickrode
Freshman Avery Rickrode is a multi-sport athlete at Villa Park High School, participating in flag football, water polo, and track in the spring. Being part of several teams has allowed her to stay active, meet new people, and represent her school across multiple sports. Avery enjoys the teamwork, dedication, and excitement that come with balancing different athletic seasons.
One of Avery’s favorite memories so far this year has been her flag football team’s undefeated preseason, an achievement that made her proud of all their hard work. Looking ahead, she’s excited for the upcoming winter sports season—and, of course, the holiday fun that comes with Christmas.
Spartan Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Zlacket
One of her favorite memories at VPHS was last year’s “12 Days of Detentions,” an initiative that encouraged students to clear their detentions through small acts of kindness and participation in fun activities. Her favorite part was when students sang Christmas carols, bringing joy and laughter to the office. What she loves most about her job is the opportunity to serve others every day. For Mrs. Zlaket, no two days are ever the same—the students keep things exciting, and there’s always a new adventure waiting.
