Dear Parkway Alumni,

Spring is just around the corner, and for your Parkway Alumni Association, that means our board and staff are busy with award season! This is a special time of year when we have the privilege of granting dreams for students through out-of-the-classroom experiences, awarding teacher grants for classroom enhancements and continuing education, and celebrating our incredible staff with the Light of Parkway Awards—honoring the essential workers who make a difference throughout our district.

It’s a season of celebration, recognizing the students, teachers, and staff who make our Parkway community such a diverse and wonderful place.

If some of these awards and initiatives sound new to you, I encourage you to take a few moments to explore the Parkway Alumni website and learn more about the key programs and projects we facilitate.

It’s truly impressive and exciting to see the impact our alumni network makes! I also encourage you to find a program that aligns with your personal passions and consider giving back.

I hope to see you at Trivia Night on March 22nd—it’s not too late to grab your tickets!

With gratitude,

Kennedy Graf

Behind every great student is an inspiring teacher. Today, we had the pleasure of announcing and celebrating the best of the best – our 2025 Parkway Teachers of the Year.

  • District & Elementary: Danette Randolph – Mason Ridge (1st Grade)
  • Middle School: Alyssa Della Camera – Southwest Middle (Math)
  • High School: Jeff Chazen – West High (Social Studies)

The elementary, middle, high school and district Teachers of the Year are selected by a committee comprised of former Parkway district-level Teachers of the Year. The Teacher of the Year program is sponsored by Parkway Alumni Association providing $2,000 in monetary awards from the Educators Make a Difference Fund. You can celebrate these teachers accomplishments by supporting this fund today.

Grant in Action!

Thanks to the Suzy Zucker Esstman Educational Grant, students at Parkway are bringing ideas to life with a 3D printer! From functional classroom tools to sparking new passions, this technology is making a real impact. One student with no prior experience is now diving deep into 3D design, and staff members are discovering innovative ways to enhance their teaching—like printing attachments for violin bows to improve hand positioning! Amazing things happen when creativity and technology come together. Thank you to the many donors of the Parkway Alumni Association for making this possible!

Girls Swimming & Diving State

It’s time to make space in the Central High trophy case! This weekend, the Colts claimed a second-place team finish at the MSHSAA Girls Swimming & Diving Class 1 State Championships.

Their depth was on display, placing top-five in all three relays along with five individual finals performances from juniors Reese Anderson (3rd - 500 free, 6th - 100 fly) and Cecilia Tremont (5th - 100 free, 8th - 50 free), and senior Sarah Fields (diving).

Congratulations to the Colts on their highest team finish since 2020!

School Counselors Week

In February we celebrated National School Counseling Week – they are some of the students' biggest advocates!

School counselors:

Offer critical support for a student's academic, career, and social-emotional development

Create a culture of success for all students

Help identify student issues, needs, and challenges

Play an essential role in a student’s improvement plan with a proactive and data-driven approach
