The Principal's Desk
Marching in to the Final Quarter by Principal Rumple
As we step into March, I want to take a moment to highlight the importance of daily attendance as we prepare for state testing in April. Every day of learning matters, and being present helps ensure your child is gaining the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed. Thank you for partnering with us to make attendance a priority—it truly makes a difference!
It’s hard to believe spring is right around the corner! As the weather begins to warm up, our students are excited to spend more time outside for recess and breaks. Inside the classrooms, our teachers and students are hard at work reviewing key standards we’ve already learned and wrapping up the ones still ahead. The momentum in our building is strong, and our students are doing amazing work.
iLEARN Checkpoint 3 testing will take place on the mornings of March 16 and 17. During this time, it’s especially important for students to get plenty of rest and arrive at school ready to do their best. Our students have been working hard all year—now it’s their chance to shine! Help us encourage them by reminding them: “You know it—now show it!”
You will also find summer school information at the end of this newsletter. Additional details about enrichment and learning opportunities will be shared soon, but we encourage families to sign up now to help us properly plan for staffing and programming.
Finally, registration for the 2026–2027 school year opens on April 1. We encourage families to complete registration early so we can ensure a smooth start for next school year.
As we move through this busy and exciting season, let’s continue to grow together and plant seeds of knowledge that will bloom for years to come.
Thank you for being such an important part of the Justice community!

Title One Family Math Night - by Assistant Principal, Amy Siders
Math Night was a huge success, and we truly enjoyed seeing so many of our families in the building learning and having fun together! It was wonderful to watch students share their math thinking, play games, and celebrate being “Mathletes” with their families.
Our Book Fair was also a great success—thanks to your support, we were able to raise funds that will go directly toward purchasing new books for our students and classrooms. We are so grateful for a community that continues to show up and invest in our school.
Be sure to mark your calendars—STEM Night will be held on April 2nd, and we can’t wait to welcome you back for another exciting evening of learning and exploration! This will be a fantastic evening filled with student-led activities and hands-on learning for the whole family. We can’t wait to see everyone there!
Respect, Responsibility, and Safety - by Assistant Principal, James Reed
Justice Families,
One of my primary responsibilities at Justice Intermediate School is supporting positive behavior and building a strong, safe school culture. I want to take a moment to share what that looks like this month.
Our focus continues to be on creating a structured environment where students feel safe, respected, and ready to learn. Clear expectations help us do that. We are reinforcing:
Hallway expectations and appropriate use of passes
Being in the right place at the right time
Responding with respect in interactions with peers and adults
Taking responsibility for choices and the quality of our work
5th and 6th grade students are still learning how to manage emotions, peer relationships, and independence. When we hold consistent expectations, we are not only managing behavior but also teaching life skills.
Families play a powerful role in this work. A short conversation at home about making good choices, handling conflict appropriately, and showing respect can go a long way. When school and home send the same message, students grow faster!
I am proud of the many students who model leadership and positivity every day. We will continue recognizing those who demonstrate responsibility, kindness, and effort.

Lena is thoughtful toward others, always respectful, and brings creativity into the classroom through her ideas and problem-solving. Her positive attitude and dedication make her an excellent role model and truly deserving of Student of the Month recognition.

Knox is caring, respectful, and very hardworking. He consistently puts forth his best effort in the classroom and takes pride in his work. Knox treats others with kindness, follows expectations, and is always willing to help when needed. His strong work ethic and positive attitude make him a great role model and truly deserving of Student of the Month recognition.
Leading by Example in P.E.
In P.E., students are building more than muscles — they’re building character! Coach Alsup is helping students understand important words like “example” and what it truly means. Students learn that setting a good example isn’t just something we talk about — it’s something we do, especially during games and competition.
Whether winning or losing, Coach Alsup encourages students to show good sportsmanship, positive attitudes, and respect for others. By practicing these skills during physical activities, students are learning life lessons that go far beyond the gym.
It’s no surprise that students love P.E. class — they’re having fun, staying active, and learning how to lead by example every single day!

Club News
3D Club Launched February 25!
We are excited to share that our new 3D Club officially launched on February 25! Students jumped right in, eager to explore the world of 3D design and printing. From learning how 3D printers work to beginning their very own creations, members are already building valuable STEM skills. Throughout the club, students will practice problem-solving, creativity, teamwork, and perseverance as they design and bring their ideas to life. It’s been wonderful to see their excitement as their digital designs begin turning into real, tangible objects! We are so proud of our 3D Club members for taking on this new challenge. We can’t wait to see what they create next!
Athletics Update
Coach Alsup’s Huddle
As our winter season heads into the home stretch, I continue to be impressed by the dedication and heart our student-athletes show every day. From early practices to late-night competitions, they represent our school with tremendous effort, sportsmanship, and pride. I am grateful not only for their commitment, but also for the coaches and families who support them every step of the way.
Boys Basketball
The boys basketball team wrapped up a very successful season with an exciting win over R.J. Baskett, finishing their season at an impressive 12-1.Under the leadership of Coach King and Coach Carter, the team showed steady growth throughout the year. Beyond the wins, these coaches have done an outstanding job emphasizing fundamentals, teamwork, discipline, and character. We are proud of how this group competed and the way they represented our school both on and off the court.
Girls Basketball
The girls basketball team is heading into the final weeks of their season, which concludes in the second week of March. They have put together an impressive season filled with hard work and determination. With Coach Hahn’s leadership, the team continues to improve each week and is looking to finish strong with momentum and confidence. We are excited to see how they close out their season.
Swimming & Wrestling
Swimming and wrestling are in full swing and have already competed in multiple events. These athletes train with incredible discipline and resilience, and their efforts deserve our recognition. If you have not had the chance to attend a meet or match, I encourage you to come out and support them. Your presence makes a difference.
Spring Sports on the Horizon
Track, soccer, and golf will be announcing their start dates soon. Students interested in participating should listen closely to morning and lunch announcements for important details. Spring will be here before we know it, and we are looking forward to another exciting season of Giant athletics.
Thank you to our athletes, coaches, and families for the commitment you make to our programs. Together, we continue to build something special.
As legendary coach Knute Rockne once said, “One man practicing sportsmanship is far better than fifty preaching it.” In our department, sportsmanship is not just something we talk about—it’s something we live. When athletes compete with integrity, coaches lead with character, and parents cheer with positivity, we build a culture of respect and teamwork that makes our entire program stronger. Thank you to all of the volunteers, coaches, and administrators who give their time and energy to make our athletic programs successful. Your impact goes far beyond the scoreboard, and I am truly grateful.
Life is a team activity,
Coach Alsup
