Superintendent's Message
LPOSD Families and Community Members,
I want to extend my warmest wishes to you and your family. I hope this two-week period is filled with joy, laughter and memorable moments with loved ones.
While enjoying festivities and traditions, take a few moments to reflect on all the blessings we enjoy living in this beautiful part of the world and among people who are selfless and motivated by genuine compassion. I look forward to the holiday season because it gives educators and students a chance to uplift our community. From classroom food drives to spreading kindness through service projects, the examples are numerous. A heartfelt thank you goes out to our staff for their commitment and generosity.
I look forward to the continued success and collaboration in 2026!
With Much Gratitude, bwm

Each year, for the past 16 years, HR collects food donations, and just over 362 pounds of food was collected and donated in November. “It was an overwhelming success,” said Thoretta Short, Human Resources director. "The Food Bank was excited to see our commitment to community support."
Kootenai Elementary's Collections for a Cause Gives Back During the Holidays
Each December, Kootenai Elementary School raises funds to fill food boxes for local families who need a helping hand over the holiday break. Kids bring loose change, dollar bills or checks to donate in “Giving Jars." Staff and volunteers purchase food items, including a turkey, and distribute them to families, around 34 this year, which marks the 14th year for Collections for a Cause.
