Converse ES All Stars: Growing Together, Achieving More!
Week of October 13, 2025
Principal's Message
Dear Converse ES All-Star Community,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Spooky Science Night! It was such a joy to see so many of our families come together for an evening of fun and learning. The science experiments were a hit, and your participation made the event truly special!
We’re also excited to announce our upcoming Fall Festival on Thursday, October 24. Due to ongoing construction on our campus, this year’s event will be held at Coronado Village Elementary School. Please see the detailed information in this newsletter for times, parking, and other important updates. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
We’ve officially wrapped up our first grading period, and we’re proud of the growth we’ve seen in our students so far. Report cards will be available on the Parent Portal on Wednesday, October 16. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s progress, we encourage you to reach out to their teacher directly—they are your best resource and partner in your child’s education.
At Converse Elementary, we believe in our motto: Growing Together, Achieving More! Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help every student succeed.
Sincerely,
Miriam Huerta
Converse ES Principal

Construction Update
Some of the playground area will be closed off, including the basketball court. However, the larger playground will be fenced to keep students out of danger from the construction.
We also have evacuation routes planned in case there is an emergency situation.
Fall Festival
Fall Festival will be held at Coronado Village Elementary, NOT here at Converse! This is due to the construction which is closing down much of our parking.

October is Bullying Prevention Month!
Character Trait of the Month
Throughout the year, staff will be recognizing students who demonstrate different character traits each month. At the end of each month, teachers will select one student from their class who has best exemplified that month's trait to be celebrated and awarded a certificate in recognition of their character.
October's Character Trait: Courage
Courage isn't the absence of fear; it's the willingness to act despite feeling fear or uncertainty. For children, everyday courage looks like:
Trying something new (like a challenging math problem).
Admitting a mistake or apologizing.
Speaking up or standing up for what's right.
Trying again after a setback or disappointment.
Help your child practice everyday courage with these simple steps:
Validate, then Encourage: Acknowledge their fear ("It sounds like you're nervous"), but shift the focus to action ("It's okay to be nervous, let's practice it together anyway!").
Focus on Effort, Not Outcome: Praise the courageous act of trying, regardless of the result. Use language like, "I'm so proud of you for having the courage to try out," or "It took guts to raise your hand and give it a shot!"
Share Your Own Courage: Share age-appropriate examples of when you had to step out of your comfort zone or apologize for a mistake.
