PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE π
π Hello Bobcat Families,
Thank you to all of the families who joined us for Parent-Teacher Conferences! We enjoyed connecting with you and collaborating on how to make this a successful year for your child!
If you were not able to join, please connect with your child's teacher on the Rooms app. If you do not have Rooms yet, please stop by the office and we can help you get set up.
Thank you!

RUNNING CLUB HAS BEGUN! π
Big thank you to Mr. Illich and Ms. Stepan for volunteering to lead our Felicita Running Club! We had 95 students sign up! This is a healthy way to start the day, and we are so excited to see what our students can accomplish! Please enjoy a couple of pictures from the 1st day! πΈ
Thanks again to Yogurtland Escondido for their sponsorship of this program!
STUDENT COUNCIL EXECUTIVE BOARD
Congratulations to our 24-25 Student Council Executive Board! π
These students had to write a speech and deliver it in front of the whole school! We are VERY proud of EVERYONE who ran. It is a brave, brave thing to put yourself out there, and all who participated gained some very important life skills.

Vice President: Maria L.
Secretary: Zapporrah B.
Historian: (confidential)
Well done Bobcats! π
We will have more opportunities for class representatives to be involved as well!
FELICITA DISCOVERY DAY COMMUNITY INPUT SESSION
We are excited to share an important opportunity for you to help shape the future of Felicita Elementary. EUSD is committed to actualizing the unlimited potential of every learner. In support of this goal, we have partnered with a value-aligned, non profit organization, Learner-Centered Collaborative (LCC) to work with us to define what's possible for students, families, staff, and our community.
As part of our efforts to bring our Framework for the Future to life in all of our classrooms, weβre engaging in a collaborative design process. The first step in this process is to start with listening. When we listen, we build empathy and when we better understand our communityβs experience, we can better design an environment that ensures success for all.
With this in mind, weβre inviting you to a group Discovery Interview for community partners and families on Wednesday, 10/16/24, where participants will have the opportunity to:
Reflect on your experiences as a student, parent, staff, community member in EUSD
Identify bright spots and opportunities with their current school experience
Think about the skills that are necessary to be a successful member of their community
Ideate on innovation in school
On our Discovery Day, we will hear from all stakeholders---community partners, families, staff, and students. One student from each classroom (K-5) will be selected to represent their class and share their voice on their hopes and dreams for our school. If you do not want your child to participate, please contact their teacher to let them know by this Tuesday. However, the more voices we can get to participate, the better! We want to empower our students to bring positive change to our school! This is an important, exciting opportunity!
Parent/Community Session: 10/16/24, 8:15-9:15 AM, Felicita MPR
We hope to see you there!
PARENT SURVEY
We still need your valuable feedback! Please take a few moments to complete our important Parent Feedback Survey, which will help us understand and address your needs. Please submit as soon as possible!
If you need assistance with this survey, please contact Laura Aguilera, Family Liaison at 760-432-2444 Ext.14028. Thank you for your time and support!
CHESS CLUB
Ms. Mendoza would like to start a chess club on Tuesday mornings before school. If you have a new or used chess set with all of the pieces that you would be willing to donate (or know someone who does), please take the set to the office. The sooner we get enough sets, the sooner we can start the club. Thank you for your support!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS β
Help us reach our attendance goal of 94% average daily attendance!
Regular student attendance plays a critical role in our collective mission to ensure every student achieves their fullest potential.
Why Attendance Should Be a Top Priority:
Academic Achievement: Regular attendance is fundamental to student success. Each school day is a building block in the learning process. Consistent attendance helps students keep up with coursework, understand key concepts, and perform better academically.
Social and Emotional Development: School is a place where students develop crucial social skills and emotional resilience. Frequent absences can hinder their ability to form strong relationships with peers and teachers, impacting their overall development.
Future Opportunities: Consistent attendance is linked to higher graduation rates and better long-term outcomes, including higher education and career prospects. By prioritizing attendance, we are directly contributing to students' future success.
School Culture: Regular attendance fosters a positive school culture and enhances the learning environment for everyone. It creates a sense of community and ensures that all students have equal access to the resources and support they need.
Congrats to all the attendance winners with the highest attendance last week!
TK/K: Ms. Stears
1st Grade: Ms. Dame
2nd Grade: Ms. Hodge
3rd Grade: Ms. Ortiz
4th/5th Grade: Ms. Roberts
Each of these classrooms received a winner magnet on their door! Keep it up, Bobcats!
