Green & Black Swim Meet
Green and Black Meet is a practice meet for our team before our first official dual meet against Wimbledon. It is a way for new swimmers/families to learn how swim meets run and to get times for the computer system. For fun, we will divide our team up into a Green and Black Team (our team colors) and "compete" against each other! Swimmers will have green or black numbers given to them at check-in that morning.

Notes about Swim Meets:
1. Many families bring a pop-up tent, chairs, ice chest, tarps, and blankets. Swim meets can be long and hot so come prepared.
2. Bring lots of water, drinks with electrolytes, fruit, and nutrient rich foods.
3. Make sure to arrive plenty of time before warm-ups. As soon as you arrive, have your swimmers check-in with the coaches to get "their numbers" aka coaches write the event number for each of the races that are swimming that day. If you arrive in the middle or after warm-ups, please wait to approach coaches for numbers after all of warm-ups are done.
4. Coach Josh will always be in charge of boy entries and relays and Coach Marissa in charge of the girls. If you need numbers, have questions about your event, need to leave a swim meet early, please see your respective coach.
5. Bring your towel, cap (coaches have team caps available), goggles, and one piece swimsuit/jammers. Please do not compete in two-pieces or baggy swim trunks.
6. We have a stingray tradition with Big Buddies and Little Buddies for swim meets. Usually an older swimmer is paired with a younger swimmer, to encourage our team to know and support each other across age groups! We will start the buddy system at our first dual meet.

Equipment Recommendations
Swim Caps
- Silicone pulls on the hair less
- Latex stays put a little better
-Some swimmers like to double cap (Latex first then silicone)
-There are bigger caps for big hair! I know the struggle!
Goggles
Swim Suits
- Yes: one piece suits and jammers
- No: two-piece suits, swim trunks, leisure wear suits, bulky wear that creates drag
- Try to avoid suits that are cloth-like, they absorb water & create drag
- For those who are very competitive, I recommend a practice suit and a race suit. This keeps the race suit well-fitted and in good condition for race day.
