We have 15 schools in LISD with STEM Specialists returning this school year to bring engineering to every student! We know that STEM is STEM for all kiddos and we are lucky to be able to bring great integrated lessons to every elementary school in our district! The Science TEKS changed last year to include the Science and Engineering Practices for classroom teachers to implement -- this means our STEM Specialists will be going above and beyond to enrich what is already being taught in the classrooms! HERE is our list of amazing educators in this specialized role!

All STEM Specials teachers, please review the changes in curriculum!

We are entering our EIGHTH year of the LISD STEM Academy program! Hard to believe and so exciting for the new educators joining our family. This year we celebrate the start of the Hebron Valley journey and support new staff at all five schools. Our goal is STEM for all kids under our charge. We believe that STEM is STEM all day and it doesn't have to fit into a solid 35 minute block at the end of the school day! Don't forget -- your Robotics Units start in the 2nd nine weeks and run on a rotational basis until the end of the school year. More details to come soon!

The LISD Science Store will be open for shopping for science and engineering supplies starting on August 8th and August 11th! Here is the direct website link with all the detailed information for the 2025-2026 school year:
