Dear North High Families, Students, and Staff,

As we enter this special time of year, I want to extend warm wishes to every North High student, staff member, and family. The holiday season offers the opportunity to reflect, reconnect, and appreciate the people and experiences that matter most. On behalf of our North High community, we wish you a joyful and restful holiday break filled with peace, gratitude, and celebration.

As we celebrate the season, we are also preparing to close out first semester on January 15th. With this day quickly approaching, we want to highlight a few important upcoming items to support student success:

Saturday School – January 10th
Saturday School will be held on Saturday, January 10th, for any students who are struggling academically or need additional time and support to finish the semester strong. Core subject teachers will be available to provide direct help with coursework, organization, and completion of missing or late assignments. We strongly encourage students who may be behind to take advantage of this opportunity.

Second Semester Attendance Expectations
Beginning second semester, updated attendance procedures will go into effect. Maintaining good attendance is essential for academic success, earning course credit, and staying on track for graduation. To be considered eligible for an off-campus class (Career Academy, Harry Hopkins and on-campus WIT) and out of building privileges for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, students must maintain a positive attendance record and not be considered “chronically absent” during 2nd semester. Chronically absent means the student has accumulated more than 40 blocks of absences during 2nd semester of the 2025-2026 school year. *The student must also be on track with their high school graduation requirements.

Thank you for your partnership and ongoing support of North High School. We are proud of our students, grateful for our families, and excited for the growth and success ahead in 2026. The Winter Holiday Break begins at 12:55 on December 19th and we resume school at our normal time (7:55) on January 5th.

We wish you a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Mr. Brant Bemus

O&M's December Staff Member of the Month O&M's December Staff Member of the Month

Now you may be wondering why we have O&M's December Staff Member of the Month, and that is because the winner Melissa Woodford has been helping us here at North Nigh. They presented the award to here earlier this month while she was covering for one of maintenance people, and has been doing a fantastic job.

Introducing S.A.L.T to North High Introducing S.A.L.T to North High

This week a new student leadership initiative was launched, the Student Activities Leadership Team (SALT).

SALT is being sponsored by Mr. Meth, Mr. Sorenson, Mrs. Chapman, and Dr. Cron. We, along with our team of students, will be diving into defining what success means for our student athletes and artists, talking about the student activities experience, and working to building unity and a strong sense of identity.

Students were selected based on their potential to become leaders within our school community. Underclass students represent much of the team intentionally. We want students who have time to develop as leaders and positively influence our school community. What better way to go about strengthening our school identity than with our greatest resource, our students.

We will share progress along the way and look forward to the growth of our student leaders and elevating the unity and pride in North High!
