District Chromebooks

It is the mission of the Capac Community School District to prepare all of our students to be life-long learners, educating them for success.

The purpose of the 21st Century Learning Initiative in the Capac Community School District is to provide current tools and resources to the 21st Century learner. Excellence in education requires that technology be seamlessly integrated throughout the educational program to facilitate critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, innovation, communication and collaboration. Increasing access to technology is essential and the individual use of the Chromebooks is a way to empower students to maximize their full potential and to prepare them for post-secondary education and the modern workplace. In order to support that learning, students need to use their school-provided technology wisely and in accordance with school policies and regulations.

Some tips to help your student use and safeguard their Chromebook include:

* Students should always keep their Chromebook secured when unattended and never let anyone else use their device.

* The Chromebook is never to be removed from its protective case including outside of school. When transporting the Chromebook, students should store it carefully in a backpack and carry it using the provided straps or handles.

* No food or drink should be consumed or left open near the Chromebook.

* Cords, cables, and removable storage devices must be inserted and removed carefully.

* Heavy objects should never be placed on top of the Chromebook, including inside backpacks.

* Don’t lean on or use a Chromebook as a writing surface.

* Never leave your device in extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or in a vehicle overnight.

* Always bring your Chromebook to room temperature prior to turning it on.

* Remember to charge your device at home every night.

Forms are available at https://www.capacschools.us under District/Building Use

Immunizations

The St. Clair County Health Department reminds parents and guardians that the summer months are an ideal time to get children immunized.

Immunizations are one of the most effective ways to protect children from harmful diseases and even death. Children entering childcare, pre-school, kindergarten, 7th grade, and any student through age 18 changing school districts must present proof of immunization to the childcare/preschool/school for admittance.

Immunizations can be received at your family doctor’s office; the St. Clair County Health Department, (810) 987-5729 – all ages; or at the St. Clair County Teen Health Center (810) 987-1311 for ages 10–21 years old.

Immunizations are one of the most effective ways to protect children. Schedule an appointment today.
