Message from Mr. Tejkl

Set a goal to be involved!

As my family and I continue to settle in, words can't express how grateful we are for all the kind words and interactions we have had from many community members! Being able to attend the Farmer's Market, taking the boys to the library, to the pool, being a part of S-RC's tee-ball team, and just the conversations/introductions from all. It has been very welcoming and it speaks volumes of the communities and the families within them. I encourage and welcome you to please continue to introduce yourselves and I look forward to being more immersed into all the happenings of our towns!

That being said, I would love to see all of our community members continue to be involved with our school and what we have coming up in the future! I would love to be able to meet with anyone that would have ideas on how to do so and I would like to try and set up a meeting spot where I can give updates after board meetings each month as well.

I am a true believer that the more involved we are, the more invested we are as well! We have great students and staff members who go above and beyond within our walls that we want to celebrate. We also have great community happenings that go on that we want all to be a part of as well! So stay tuned as we get closer to starting of the school year! Have a great week!

Quote of the week to make you think:

"Being involved in the well-being and advancement of one's own community is a most natural thing to do." - Clarence Clemons

Sincerely,

Tucker Tejkl

A message from Mrs. Cromer and Mrs. Willis

Thank you for all of your help organizing and supporting this program for our students. It was wonderful watching students' attitudes toward school go from nervous and hesitant to truly being excited to return each day. Students gained the ability to be comfortable answering questions (even if not 100% sure of their answers), exploring ideas, and were able to show leadership qualities that they may not have felt comfortable doing in the regular classroom. Along with the learning that was captured throughout these ten days, we all believe that RAMP completely changed their demeanors and they are looking forward to the beginning of the school year.

Donations welcomed for our Library Project! Take a read!

The 420 students I serve are eager to learn in new ways as they intertwine content with play, technology, and real-world applications. They are passionate, hard-working kids who squeeze the most out of every experience. That is why I work hard to make learning memorable for them.

Our students will not only demonstrate learning in core class areas assessed by state standards, they will also build critical thinking skills, problem solving strategies, collaborative techniques, growth mindset, and share their products with an authentic audience that provides feedback. Preschool through fifth grade have weekly library classes that LEGOs could potentially enrich as we study characters, setting, genre, sequence, plot, and more through collaboration across content areas.

Our middle and high school students will benefit from library and classroom collaboration with social studies classes to recreate historical events, science classes to represent cell structures and processes, English classes to create stop motion green screen projects, exploration classes as they conduct inquiry learning, agriculture classes as they learn about life cycles, and so much more. The flexibility of the LEGO product makes it easy to customize for any class preschool through twelfth grade and would be a unique way to keep students connected with their school library all throughout their school experience.

This project seeks more than just academic success. It seeks to grow our students as people: socially, emotionally, academically, and creatively. When we give our students the tools and empower them as problem-solving creators, there’s no telling what they can do.
