Public Safety Group Job Shadow Experience

This week’s featured upcoming experience is a public safety group job shadow with the Webster Groves Police and Fire Departments taking place on November 12 from 8:30am - 12:30pm. Students are invited to join to learn more about a career in public safety, law enforcement, or as a first responder. At the police department, students will meet with the Chief, Assistant Chief, and Captains to receive an overview of possible career paths and have experiences with multiple divisions, exposure to booking procedures, and introductions to patrol vehicles and technological aspects of modern policing. At the fire department, students will have the opportunity to network with a member of the fire department while learning about their rescue vehicles and job duties. Students will also tour Webster Groves City Hall to view the courtroom while learning about municipal legal & court procedures from municipal and circuit judges. Students will also dialogue with the City Manager and other city staff about careers related to public safety in civil government. Chief of Police Acevez and Captain Josh Weber will provide a pizza lunch where students will be able to ask questions and chat with members of the police Command staff.

There is no cost associated with this experience. Please encourage your children who are curious about this possible career to register on GivePulse or stop by the Chelsea Center to sign up. This counts toward A+ job shadow hours!
