This is Noel Keener, the proud principal of Ragsdale High School. Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year! It was great to see so many excited faces at open house this week! Our staff is ready and we have been working really hard to get things ready for our students!
School begins Monday, August 25 and our door open at 8:55am. All Ragsdale students receive a free breakfast and free lunch! Breakfast is available as soon as you walk in the door!
For the first week of school, all students will report to Homeroom at the bell. We will have signs posted and will be on hand to help! Returning students should have homeroom in the same place as last year!
School ends at 4:15pm. Please remember that our attendance window closes at 4:00pm. You must present a valid picture ID to check your child out of school.
Chromebooks will be given out starting the first week of school. If your child did not return their charger last year, then they will not receive one this year. You can pay $16 (schoolcashonline.com) or purchase one at sites online for around $10.
Last year, The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction transitioned its student information system from PowerSchool to Infinite Campus. Now, enrollment, attendance, transportation requests, grades, schedules and other student data are all in one system. It is a one stop shop! Please go to gcsnc.com/campusparent for more details, information and tutorials on signing up. There is also an Infinite Campus App!
Will you be parking on campus this year? You have to have your parking pass! The form is online. You can purchase your pass before or after school. See the link on our website and scroll down for more details. We will give through Sept 8 to purchase the $50 pass!
Seniors! It's your year! We look forward to make this your best year yet! Senior T Shirts will be sold for $16 at all lunches Monday-Wednesday this week. Students will be able to pay through Schoolcash or with cards or Apple Pay.

The Ragsdale Athletic Boosters are selling Athletic Passes! Student passes are $70, Adult passes are $125, a Family Pass for 2 is $200, a Family Pass for 3 is $225, and a Family Pass for 4 is $300. Passes will be on sale Mon-Wed of this week during all lunches (cash or credit card). Speaking of Ragsdale Boosters, they are hosting the 37th Annual Stone Open Golf Outing on September 6th starting at 7am at the Grandover Resort West Course. See our newsletter for details!
GCS transportation is working OVERTIME! Any student who requested transportation through Aug 15 is routed. Students who are brand new or need to correct their information will will be routed in 3 days!
North Carolina students in grades 6-12 are required to view age-appropriate safety videos provided by the North Carolina Center for Safer Schools. These videos will be shared with students at our school on August 28. To review the videos, please visit www.gcsnc.com/protect. If you prefer that your child does not participate in viewing this video, please complete the opt-out form on the GCS website (also attached to our newsletter) and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher by Wednesday, August 27.
