Report an Absence to the Office

Please report your child's absence to the school office rather than your child's homeroom teacher. This helps ensure attendance is recorded and tracked accurately.

Pack Leaders' Post Pack Leaders' Post

As we head into the holiday season, we want to wish all of our Lakeland families a very happy, healthy, and restful holiday. Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and trust throughout the year—it truly makes a difference in the lives of our students and the work we do every day. This season offers a meaningful reminder of the importance of community, togetherness, and being united around a shared goal: supporting the next generation of Canadians - OUR children - as they learn, grow, and thrive. Lakeland Ridge School is a place where everyone is welcome, valued, and appreciated for who they are.

As we look ahead to the new year, we do so with optimism and excitement. The new year brings fresh opportunities for learning, growth, and connection, and we are excited to take them on together. On behalf of the entire staff, thank you again for being such an important part of our school community. Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a bright, successful start to the new year.

All the best!

Inclement Weather Inclement Weather

With the winter season almost here, the school has a few reminders for families:

· Ensure students have clothing appropriate for expected weather conditions.

· If weather conditions are bad enough to impact student transportation, Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) advises families directly, and posts updates on social media and eips.ca. · Decisions regarding bus cancellations are guided by an EIPS administrative procedure that states, “school bus service may be suspended…when there is a forecast or current temperature of -40 C, including wind chill factor, in one or more regions.” Other reasons for suspending or delaying school bus services include adverse weather and poor road conditions.

· When school bus services are suspended, schools remain open to students.

Contact Information Contact Information

Has your contact information recently changed? Have you recently moved or has your contact information changed since the start of the year?

Lakeland Ridge encourages families to review the information the Division has on file to ensure it’s up to date. Using the Student Information Update available through the PowerSchool Parent Portal, families can review the current information on file for each student—including addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, parent and guardian information, emergency contacts, medical details and other related information—and submit any updates needed.

Reviewing and updating the form ensures the school and Division have the most up-to-date information regarding your child. Updates completed by December 10 are especially helpful as the Division prepares for 2026-27 registration processes beginning in the new year.

NOTE: Only submit updates for the changes that have already taken place. If you’re moving later this school year, you’ll submit the necessary updates to your information through the Student Information Update after you’ve moved.

If you have questions about the form or any trouble with your Parent Portal account, contact the school office at 780-416-9018.

Parking Lot Pick Up and Drop Off Parking Lot Pick Up and Drop Off

Safety Concern - Parents, please read!

When dropping off and picking up students, please ensure you are not parking in bus zones, staff parking spaces, or entering the staff parking lot at any time, even for a quick stop. We have noticed an increase in vehicles lining up and blocking staff parking stalls for end of day pick up. This makes it difficult for staff to leave the school because their stalls are either blocked or they are concerned about backing out and hitting someone. Staff parking spaces have all been allocated for the staff from Lakeland Ridge, Holy Spirit and EIPS Supports for Students. All staff parking spots are in use, however, you may see some open spots because staff from all 3 organizations arrive and depart at various times of the day. Please do not park in an empty staff parking space or enter the staff parking lot. The map below outlines where you are permitted to pull in to pick up and drop off your children. (Turquoise area ONLY.) Whenever in doubt, STAY TO THE RIGHT!
