CAVALIER Chronicle
WELCOME TO THE 22-23 SCHOOL YEAR

Weekly Welcome Words
Happy Sunday Cavalier Families!
I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far! We appreciate KISD for putting on a great Fitness and Wellness Fair yesterday. I saw our Sapphires performing and some other Cavaliers were volunteering--way to show those Cavalier values!
Some things to consider during testing time:
- The Math STAAR will take place Tuesday morning: All students will be taking the STAAR test. Please note that there may be delays in checking students out during testing. Plan accordingly and avoid scheduling appointments during this time.
- No Cell Phones or electronic devices: Students are reminded not to have cell phones, headphones, earbuds, or Smart Watches in their possession during testing. Phones must be surrendered to testing room personnel to avoid any issues with test validity and disciplinary action.
Thank you for your support as we encourage our students to do their best on the STAAR tests!
A few reminders for our families:
- If you visit our campus, you need to check in at the front office immediately upon arrival.
- While on campus, you should refrain from interacting with any child other than your own. If you are not listed on their demographic information, you do not have their parent or guardian's permission to communicate with them at our school.
- During events (Athletics, Fine Arts, Community Outreach, etc.), you are here to encourage and support your own student. It is inappropriate to speak negatively to or about other people (including the competition).
We are working to help our students understand policies, procedures, and the power of words. They will look to you as one of their role models and we appreciate your help with this.
This Thursday, we are hosting an event to celebrate Month of the Military Child and to share information on resources available. We hope that you will join us!
IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Thank you to those who have already completed their registration. We are still currently at 92%! Student registration has been extended until April 30th. ALL KISD students must have a registration completed if they will be attending school in KISD next year (it doesn't matter what campus your student will be at for 24-25). You can find detailed information at https://www.killeenisd.org/enroll. Please get this done as soon as possible so that we can properly plan for your student for next year.
Current Student Registration closes April 30, 2024.
IMPORTANT TRANSFER INFORMATION:
If your student is at CPMS on a transfer and would like to remain on our campus, please complete the transfer request form. If your student is currently a 6th or 7th grader at CPMS and will be zoned for Jimmie Don Aycock Middle School next year, but you would like them to return to CPMS, please complete the transfer request form.
