Spanish Students Kick off Hispanic Heritage Month
Students in Mrs. Nordquist's Spanish I and II classes have begun learning about and celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15- October 15). Picture above, Gabi enjoys a traditional Costa Rican breakfast, that Kaylee (at right) helped to prepare. Students in Spanish I have begun an art and research project about famous Spanish-speakers and their contributions to society.
Intro to Agriculture
Students in Mrs. Schaefer's freshmen ag class are putting their math and science skills to use while learning about range and soil judging. Learning about area plants and determining if land is suitable for cattle and wildlife are some of the skills they have been practicing this fall.

Marine Recruiter Visit
SHS welcomed one of its recent graduates, Keondray White, back as part of a Marine recruitment day earlier this week. Students got to chat with the representatives about careers and opportunities in the Marines, and several students, including Miles (pictured at right) got to show how many pull-ups they could do to a crowd of students eating lunch in the MPR.
All seniors and their parents are invited to attend the Financial Aid Night on October 22nd at 6 PM in the high school library. A representative from Mapping Your Future will present many ways to fund a student's higher education. They will cover topics from the Free Applications For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to various scholarships available in the state. If you are unable to attend but would like the information, please contact Mrs. Filipek.
