Hello Wizard Families-

It was wonderful to see so many of you at the 1st and 2nd grade music performance this afternoon. Thank you to Ms. Stiegelmeyer for fostering a love of music in our students and for thoughtfully selecting such meaningful songs. The performance schedule for other grade levels can be found below.

As we approach the end of the school year, we are excited to begin our ABC Countdown starting next Thursday, April 30th. The calendar is attached here for your convenience. While this is a fun and celebratory time, we also recognize that the transition from the school year to summer can feel stressful for some students. As parents, we encourage you to be mindful of these feelings and to frame this time as an opportunity to celebrate the growth and accomplishments your child has made throughout the year. If your child is experiencing any anxiety about this transition, our school counselor, Elizabeth Titze, is a great resource and is available to provide additional support.

Speaking of next year, registration is now open for all students, and we ask that families complete this process as soon as possible. If your child will not be returning next year, please be sure to complete the appropriate forms as well. Our staffing decisions are based on current enrollment numbers, so timely registration is very important. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued support.

A reminder that there is no school tomorrow, Friday, April 24th. Have a fantastic weekend!

Wickham's Educational Considerations for Classroom Placement Form for 2026-27 Wickham's Educational Considerations for Classroom Placement Form for 2026-27

The placement of children in classes is an important decision. When determining homeroom placements, we strive for continuity and balance in many areas including but not limited to gender, range of developmental stages, social mixture, and culture. Our goal is to create heterogeneous homerooms that reflect the diversity of our community. Therefore, we work through an extensive process to determine class placement for each school year. This process includes much collaboration among the principal and school staff to analyze student data while considering the many factors mentioned above to compile class lists. Honoring the decisions made by the educational professionals in regard to the class make up is extremely important.

Wickham will not accept requests for placement in a specific teacher’s classroom. Principal and staff will take into consideration information parents/guardians provide regarding specific or unique academic, behavioral, social/emotional or health related needs.

Parents may request a teacher who taught an older sibling. These requests will be considered but will not be guaranteed. Exceptions to the “Sibling Match” requests are made by the educational team, when necessary, to maximize educational services and resources for all students.

This form must be submit by Friday, April 24th at 3:30 PM. No late submissions will be accepted.
