A Learner-Centered & Excellence Driven Community

MTPS Families,

As summer continues, there is an unmistakable sense of excitement building across the Middletown Township Public School District as we prepare to welcome our students for another extraordinary academic year. Behind the scenes, we remain fully engaged in thoughtful planning, professional learning, and collaborative work to ensure that every school is ready to provide an exceptional educational experience from the very first day.

At MTPS, our commitment to excellence is more than a goal—it is the foundation of everything we do. We believe every student possesses limitless potential, and it is our collective responsibility to create the conditions where those abilities can flourish. Through engaging instruction, strong relationships, and innovative opportunities, we strive to inspire students to think critically, persevere through adversity, and build the confidence to pursue ambitious goals.

Equally important is our dedication to fostering supportive learning environments where every student feels valued, respected, and connected. Positive school cultures create the conditions where students grow as well-rounded individuals. When they know they belong and are empowered to take intellectual risks, they become more willing to investigate, create, collaborate, and uncover new possibilities.

Our district also embraces the belief that high standards matter. Students consistently rise to the expectations we establish, and, for that reason, we seek to challenge every learner while providing the guidance and resources necessary for success. By encouraging students to achieve their personal best while recognizing their individual progress, we cultivate resilience, responsibility, and a lifelong love of learning.

As families enjoy the upcoming month of August, I encourage you to make the most of the many moments that enrich life beyond the classroom. Reading together, visiting new places, engaging in enriching conversations, volunteering, or developing new interests all contribute to the growth of imagination, character, and a deeper understanding of the world. These everyday experiences complement the important work that will resume when students return to school.

As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, we do so with optimism, purpose, and great anticipation. Together, we will build schools where high aspirations inspire achievement, progress is celebrated, innovation is embraced, and every student is empowered to realize their fullest potential. I am confident that, through our shared commitment and partnership, this will be a year filled with remarkable accomplishments and lasting memories for every member of the MTPS family.

Thank you for your ongoing trust, partnership, and unwavering support of our schools. It is both an honor and a privilege to serve this exceptional district, and I look forward to an outstanding year ahead.

Sincerely,

Kevin G. Cullen
Interim Superintendent
Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, & Special Education
