News Fromthe RanchAugust 24, 2025, Vol. 1, Issue 4

Dear TRE Family,

We had a great 2nd week of the school year despite the rising temps and humidity!

Teachers and students continued with our Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS) rotations for our Cool Coyotes to learn the expected behaviors at school. Our Cool Coyotes are kind, safe, and responsible! We handed out our first weekly student Howl Outs presented on Friday to celebrate positive behavior choices. Way to go, Cool Coyotes!

Students enjoyed their first Fit PE with Coach C on Tuesday, jumped into new units for math and literacy, continued to build strong classroom communities, and did an excellent job during our first fire drill on Friday.

EARLY PICK UP REMINDERS EARLY PICK UP REMINDERS

It is difficult to find students at lunch for early pick up when they are playing across our playground and it takes time away from our supervisors observing students to ensure safety. Please plan accordingly when scheduling appointments and try to schedule appointments after school when possible. If you need to pick up your child early, please pick up before or after lunch (see lunch times below).

We also ask that you NOT pick up your child 15 minutes before school ends as it is very busy in the front office at this time.

This year TRE spirit wear will be available all year long. Click HERE to explore all the awesome spirit wear options. The webstore is currently running a 20% off code (SPIRIT20) and discounted shipping. Both our mascot Rocky the Cool Coyote, as well as our 30 year Anniversary logo are available for purchase. The spirit wear webstore has everything from t-shirts, to sweatshirts, to hats and sweatpants. There are items with a lower price tag, as well as popular name brand Nike and Adidas options. There is something for everyone (parents included). I recommend clicking on CUSTOMIZE IT to explore the variety of customizable options. You can choose shirt color and adjust design colors.

5th grade families - We have asked for the Class of 2025 designs to be updated to 2026. With that said, you can click one of those designs and edit the year. No need to wait to purchase if you are interested. Have fun exploring!

We would love to be able to have both a girls and boys 4/5th grade volleyball team this year to play against the other elementary schools. In order to offer this opportunity, we need two parent volunteers interested in coaching the team. Practices and games would be held Tuesdays and Thursdays right after school. The girls volleyball season is quickly approaching and we would need to host a team meeting to determine interest on Tuesday, Sept 2nd. The girls season begins September 22. Games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 PM. Practices will be held at TRE from 3:00-4:00 PM when there are no games scheduled. If you are interested in coaching, please email Mrs. Ciecek by Tuesday, Aug. 26th. If we are able to secure coaches, a follow up Parent Square message will be shared with 4/5th grade families later this week to determine interest.

It's a must-read to know what is happening at TRE!

Every Sunday you will get TRE News through Parent Square communication. This is your way to read about everything coming up at school and see pictures from the week. If you don't see the newsletter, make sure you are have set up Parent Square. You can choose email, text, or both. Be sure to review the News From the Ranch each week.

PARKING & TRAFFIC | Arrival & Dismissal PARKING & TRAFFIC | Arrival & Dismissal

PLEASE give yourself plenty of time to get your child to school. We have over 500 students, the parking lot WILL be busy and EVERYONE has somewhere they need to get to. Starting this week, students who are late will be sent to the office to get a tardy slip.

TK & Kindergarten: Drop-off is on Keller Street. You will need to park your car and walk to the gate. For pick-up, parents will enter the back gate and wait in front of the classroom.

Arrival/Dismissal:

Students can be dropped off at school starting at 7:55 AM. There is no supervision before 7:55 AM. If you need before or after school care, please call Catalyst Kids Club at (714) 573-9256.

Instruction, in the classroom starts at 8:10 for TK-2nd grade and 8:20 for 3rd-5th grades.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday instruction in the classroom ends at 1:50 PM for TK-K, 2:38 PM for 1st-2nd grade, and 2:48 PM for grade 3-5. Please allow enough time for teachers to walk their students to the front gates.

Wednesday dismissal: TK and K: 12:55 PM, 1st-2nd: 1:24 PM, 3rd-5th: 1:34 PM

If your child is in 3rd-5th grade and dismissed at 2:48 (1:34 on Wednesdays), PLEASE DO NOT come to pick up your child before 2:50 (1:35 on Wednesdays). If you have both a primary grade and upper grade student, please do not park in the pickup line to wait for your upper grade student. When the cars for upper grade dismissal are lined up waiting, we can't dismiss the earlier primary grades and it backs up the traffic. If you come early, you will be asked to drive around and get back in the car line. Thank you for helping ensure a smooth, efficient dismissal process.

As always, we ask that parents and families adhere to all traffic regulations, signs, and the direction of staff, as well as practice PATIENCE and SAFETY when dropping off and picking up students. Please take a minute to review the parking lot procedures below.
