Antrim Elementary School - December 15, 2023
Principal Corner
Hello AES families,
Happy last week before break! I wanted to share with you a few changed to the schedule and special activities for this week.
As a reminder, the Winter Feast will be held for students (K-3) and staff on Thursday, December 21st at 12:00. The menu is included below. If you would like to volunteer to help in any way, please sign up using the link below. Thank you to those who have already volunteered to assist in making this event a success.
On Friday, December 22nd - School throughout the district will be a half day.
We invite all PK-4 families to join us for the Winter Sing-A-Long during our Community Meeting at 11:00 in the multipurpose room. Families are welcome to dismiss their child after the Community Meeting or to keep dismissal plan as usual.
Ringing in Respect - Throughout the month of December, we have focused on respect. Each week we focused on a different kind of respect. Respect to property, respect to self and respect to others. Students and staff recognized each other for acts of respect and filled multiple snow people on a mural in the hallway as a visual. We look forward to continuing to build on our skills of showing respect as we ring in the new year together.
Dismissal - Dismissal for all students will be either after the Community meeting at 11:30, if families attend and choose to dismiss following OR at 11:45 for PreK and 12:20 for K-4. Please remember to adjust any dismissal plans in Pick Up Patrol.
Please contact the office with any questions.
Be well,
Beth

Note from Ms. Gregg, School Counselor– The holiday season is a time of many emotions. In addition to feelings of anticipation, excitement, and happiness, many children also feel stress, anxiety, and disappointment at this time of year. At AES we try to anticipate the full array of feelings our students may experience. We work to keep things calm and low-key and we use the same routines and support we provide to the children throughout the school year. As always, I welcome communication from you, our students’ families. Please reach out to me and/or your child(ren)’s teacher if you wish to share any concerns. I hope that the coming weeks bring all of you some quiet moments and a chance to experience feelings of wonder and joy.
