What is...the White Table?
Every year, in honor of Veteran's Day, grade 6 does a lesson on, The White Table, by Margot Theis Raven. The White table serves as a symbol of remembrance for all of the service men and women who are missing, captured or held prisoner. The table is set with a white cloth, an empty chair, a plate with a lemon slice and salt, a black napkin and a white candle. There is an empty chair leaning against the table as ell.
