Nashoba N. Pave Your Path. Impact the World. Be Your Best Self.

Hello Nashoba Community,

The month of March has seen successes from Nashoba Drama programs, our Robotics Program, and our DECA Program. This week I would like to celebrate the students who participate in these activities.

Last weekend, Nashoba Drama took the stage at Nashoba Regional High School with Big Fish, receiving rave reviews for their performances and the dedication of both the student actors as well as the stage crew. If you weren’t able to attend Big Fish, there are still many performances ahead. This weekend you can catch High School Musical Jr. performed by FSS Drama, and next weekend Hale Drama will perform their version of Too Many Detectives at the Murder Mansion. LBMS Drama will conclude the spring performances with Alice in Wonderland Jr. in early May. You can find more information about the performances and tickets below.

In addition to theater productions, March has also seen incredible achievements from Nashoba Robotics and Nashoba DECA. Nashoba Robotics, FIRST Robotics Competition Team 1768, began their season in Billerica, where they finished the first round in an impressive fourth place and earned the Excellence in Engineering Award for their robot’s highly functional solutions. We published a student write up on this exciting start last week, you can find it here.

Last week, our NRHS DECA students traveled to Boston, where they spent two and a half days presenting pitches, completing role plays, and taking business based tests as part of the annual DECA State Competition. Following the finals round, 22 Nashoba students received the scores to compete in the DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

Months like March are a reminder of how the perseverance, creativity, and hard work of our students extends beyond the classroom. With the support of our staff and community members, we get the opportunity to see our students succeed not only in our classrooms, but on local, state, and national stages!

Peace,

Kirk Downing (He/Him)

K-8 Report Cards Virtually Distributed March 26th

Report cards for students in grades K-8 will be virtually distributed on Thursday, March 26, 2026. Families can expect to receive a secure message with their student’s report card in the afternoon. Please note, due to recent snow days, we have pushed back the Trimester II Report Card distribution by two days.

As a reminder, in December, we officially launched our new K-8 report cards. These updated report cards allow us to more clearly reflect student learning and growth while aligning with the district’s ongoing curriculum development, adoption of high-quality instructional materials, and consistency across grade levels. The update also allows the Social Behavior and Work Habits sections to more closely mirror the Portrait of a Nashoba Graduate competencies.

For additional information on the K-8 report cards, or the recent updates, please visit the K-8 Report Card section of our NRSD Family Information Hub.

Cold and Flu Season, Still Here!

The colder months are still here and with them we are in the season of stomach viruses, colds, flu, and other respiratory illnesses. Here are the best ways for students and families to reduce their risk of contracting and spreading illnesses in school and within the community:

Key Points to Prevent Illness

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially before eating.

  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.

  • Avoid touching your face.

  • Use hand sanitizer when soap and water aren't available.

  • Stay home if you're sick.

  • Get vaccinated against common viruses like influenza, Covid, pertussis, and RSV.

Free Breakfast and Lunch Will Continue, Community Support and Resources Available

The district wants to reassure families that free breakfast and lunch will continue to be available to all students at every school, and these meals will not be affected by the shutdown.

In addition to school meals, families can access support through Project Bread’s FoodSource Hotline, provided by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Hotline counselors are available in 180 languages to connect families with programs such as WIC and local food pantries.

The district’s Department of Health and Wellness has also compiled a list of local resources for families who need assistance or want to help others in the community. These resources include food assistance programs, holiday gift aid, general support services, and utilities help. The community has a strong network of partners dedicated to ensuring that no family goes without essential resources.
