Substance Use Prevention

Is your child vulnerable to problematic alcohol or substance use?

Any alcohol or substance use negatively impacts the adolescent brain, but children are more susceptible to addiction if any of following risk factors are present:

● Mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety and/or ADHD

● Family history of problematic alcohol or substance use

● Past trauma, such as a family death; divorce; or emotional, physical or sexual abuse

● If your child engages in risky behavior without regard for consequences, or struggles to follow directions or safety guidelines

If any of these are present for your child, it is important to take any alcohol or substance use seriously. For tips, additional information, resources, and support check out the Partnership to End Addiction website: https://drugfree.org/prevention-and-early-action/

Did you know Cherry Creek School District has an Adolescent Substance Use Prevention, Intervention, Resources & Education (ASPIRE) Team of school health professionals that supports students and school communities with substance use prevention, intervention and education? If you feel your child is in need of support, reach out to your school for more information.

PTCO Needs Your Help!

We need your support, Bruins! We are currently at 42% of our $112,200 annual fundraising goal, and every donation makes a difference.

Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to fund our fall teacher grants, helping provide valuable resources and opportunities for our students and teachers. However, our current fundraising falls short of what we need to support other important PTCO initiatives. We don't currently have enough funds to provide staff appreciation celebrations or put on a safe and memorable After Prom.

With the transition to MySchoolBucks, PTCO donations are no longer included with school fee payments. We are asking families to consider making a direct donation to the PTCO so we can continue supporting our students, teachers, and staff throughout the year.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us get closer to our goal and makes a difference in our Cherry Creek community. We're asking each family to consider a donation of $75 per student.

Pay Here Via our Website

Pay Here via Venmo, Apple Pay, or PayPal

Thank you for your continued generosity and support!

Go Bruins! 💙🍒🐻
