First Day of School!
7th Grade Orientation Day is Monday, August 31st. Orientation Day follows standard school hours, bus schedules, and lunch service. Treating this as a full school day ensures students experience the complete flow of their daily routine, from morning arrival to afternoon dismissal, with full support from staff every step of the way.
Note: Orientation Day is student-only. It is ran as a normal, full day of school and standard campus security procedures are in place.
The first day of school for ALL grades is Tuesday, September 1st, 2026! School starts at 7:40AM and ends at 2:55PM. Students will begin the day in their Learning Center.
✨We look forward to seeing our 7th, 8th, and 9th graders! It's going to be a great year! ✨
Back to School Reminders
Planner Required 📓: Students must use a Student Planner as their hall pass. One planner will be provided at the start of the year.
Wired Headphones Only 🎧: Students must bring and use wired headphones.
Chromebook Policy 💻: Devices may only be used when directed by a teacher. They are not allowed during passing times or immediately upon entering the classroom.
No Cell Phones (7:00 AM – 2:55 PM) 📱🚫: Cell phone use is strictly prohibited inside the building during school hours. Note: If a student feels ill, they must report to the Health Office following standard procedures rather than using their phone to contact home.
Learning Centers Focus 📚:
Mondays: Community Building & Academic/Career Planning.
Tuesday–Friday: Academic focus. Students who complete their work will be offered non-tech activities (reading, coloring, puzzles, etc.).
Water Only 🫗: Students may only have water in the building. Water is allowed in classrooms with teacher permission. All other liquid items that are not water need to be finished prior to the 7:30 bell or kept sealed in their lockers until lunch or used after school. This includes any coffee or energy drinks. Students who come to school with these beverages will be asked to dispose of them.
Fidget Policy 🧩: Students may only have fidgets the size of their hand and no larger. Teachers can ask students to put away if a fidget is larger or causing a disruption.
Updates from the Nurse
Welcome to PJ’s and Ben Franklin Health Services, I am AJ Taylor and will be the school nurse this year. This will be my 9th year as a school nurse. I have covered almost all of the schools at one time or another in the district, most recently Ben Franklin, Plover Whiting and Kennedy. This school year I will be covering Ben, PJs, Jefferson and 4K. 👩🏻⚕️🩺
Before School Drop Off - After School Pick Up
Bus Drop Off & Loading Zone:
The space designed for buses is directly North of the building. This space should solely be used for bus and district transportation needs during morning and afternoon pickup. This is NOT a student Drop Off/Pick Up location. Buses enter on the designated access road taking them directly to the Drop Off & Loading Zone.
Student Drop Off & Loading Zone:
Students can be dropped off or picked up at one of two locations: Michigan Ave (Preferred) and Tennis Courts. Please note that if you are utilizing the space by the Tennis courts, you may not disrupt the flow of traffic and park in the bus zone.
In order to keep the safety of our students as a top priority please follow these guidelines during drop off and pick up:
Michigan Ave (Preferred):
Pull all the way into the drop off zone. Your student should not leave the car if you are not in the drop off zone.
Pull up directly up to the car in front of you without blocking the bus access or crosswalks.
Exit the vehicle quickly! Wrap up conversations and have materials ready prior to stopping and exiting.
Walkers must use the cross walks. Using the North crosswalk is preferable so that the light indicators can be utilized.
After you have dropped off your student, if you can not merge on to Michigan Ave again right away, continue to pull forward into the drop of lane.
Follow directions from staff members in yellow vests and School Resource Officer.
Left turns on College Ave. are not permitted during the hours of 7:00-8:00 a.m. and 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Tennis Courts:
Do not block bus traffic.
Exit the vehicle quickly.
As you are exiting the parking lot, you must Turn Right onto Michigan Ave.
Your efforts and contributions in keeping our students safe and assisting with the flow of traffic are appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Jennifer Knecht, Principal at jknecht@pointschools.net.
For more information, please visit the Our School Day section under Students & Families on the PJ Jacobs Website.
Attendance
The expectation for PJ Jacobs students is that they arrive on time to school and to each class, every school day. Punctuality is a learned skill and an important part of the reliability and accountability businesses look for in their employees.
Excused Absences include student illness, illnesses of others, death in the family, appointments, and prearranged absences.
Procedure: By 9:00 AM on the day a student is absent, parents/guardians must call or email the Main Office at 715-345- 5422 or PJJacobs-Attendance@pointschools.net reporting the absence and the reason. Absences not reported by parents/guardians will be marked “unexcused” and will remain unexcused until we receive a phone call/voicemail or a note from the parent/guardian with a reason for the absence.
Please Note: A tardy late to school may be excused, but a tardy late to class may not be excused by a parent/guardian. Students are advised to speak with their teachers for any lates to class.
Labor Day - No School
Save the Date!
There will be no school on Labor Day, Monday, September 7th, 2026. Enjoy the long weekend!
Field Trips & Volunteer Forms
Background checks are good for an entire school year and must be submitted every year.
