Principal's Message Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Families,

I hope you are enjoying the cooler temperatures this weekend. Whether you enjoyed the state fair, football, or other activities, we hope you are having a great weekend.

We have a three-day week before our fall break. Students will have Thursday October 12th- Monday October 16th off. It is important that they continue to attend school on Monday through Wednesday of this week and beginning on Tuesday October 17th since there will be daily instruction. Attendance is important every day and we appreciate you scheduling any trips for the scheduled days off.

This week we are celebrating World Space Week with a dress up day on Monday October 9th. Students can wear space themed clothing to school. We are also celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month on Wednesday October 11th. Students can wear traditional Hispanic clothing. Thank you for participating in our Hispanic Heritage Month dress ups- we have loved seeing the incredible creativity and cultural traditions that students bring to our campus community.

Parent Conferences will be held throughout the month of October. While the official conference week is from October 23- 27th, some teachers may schedule conferences for other times during the month to provide more flexibility with scheduling. Parent conferences are an important time to understand how your student is progressing on grade level standards and goals so far this school year. Please look out for communication from your child's homeroom teacher and let us know if you have any questions.

We had the opportunity to celebrate students who had perfect attendance for the month of September. We announced 2nd graders with perfect September attendance and will be announcing students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade this week. All students will be able to select a book from our book vending machine to bring home. We appreciate your commitment to helping your student be on time and present every day.

Our PTO's Trunk or Treat event is coming up on Saturday October 21st. We are excited to build our campus community through this fall event. Please see the flyer below and add it to your calendar. If you are interested in volunteering or helping out, please reach out to our PTO at biomedicalpreppto@gmail.com.

We look forward to a great week! Enjoy your fall break with your family and friends. Please let us know if you need anything.

Best regards,

Dr. G

Gun Safety Gun Safety

As the state law now requires School Districts to distribute safe firearm storage information to parents and guardians. I would like to share the information below.

While your children are in our care, our top responsibility is to provide a safe and supportive environment where all students can learn and grow. We recognize that school safety is an effort that begins at home, and under House Bill 3 (HB3), districts are now required to distribute safe firearm storage information to all parents and guardians. Throughout the year, Dallas ISD will work with parents to offer information on this safety effort.

Here are some essential gun safety tips that can help prevent accidents and keep our students safe:

● Keep Guns Locked, Unloaded and Secured: If you do own guns, invest in a quality gun safe or lockbox. Store firearms locked, unloaded, separate from ammunition, and away to prevent unauthorized access, especially by children.

● Teach Children About Gun Safety: Talk to your child about guns, even if you don't own any. Teach them to never touch a gun they find and to immediately inform an adult.

● Seek Proper Training: If you decide to own a gun, seek proper training in firearm safety and handling. Even if you don't own one, learning about firearm safety can be valuable.

● Lead by Example: As adults, we should always model responsible gun ownership and safety for our children.

Learn more and find additional resources from the Texas Department of Public Safety and Be SMART at safegunstoragetexas.com and besmartforkids.org. For details on Dallas ISD’s comprehensive safety plan, please visit dallasisd.org/safeschools.

By sharing this information, we can collectively promote a culture of safety within our community. Let's work together to keep our families safe and informed.

Sincerely,

Uniforms Uniforms

I would like to remind you to review the uniform policy and ensure that your child is wearing appropriate uniform and footwear. This is to ensure their safety as improper shoes can lead to injuries.

Homeroom teachers will begin contacting families regarding this topic to better understand individual needs.

Your cooperation in this matter is highly appreciated. please see the approved uniform policy here
