A Note from Mrs. Morris, Career Learning Principal

March is a month that challenges us to stay focused while also looking ahead. As we recognize Military Awareness Month, we reflect on the values of leadership, discipline, and perseverance that military service represents. These same qualities are ones we encourage in all of our CTE students, no matter which path they choose after graduation.

With WebXams approaching, now is the time to stay consistent. Preparation doesn’t happen all at once, it happens in daily effort, asking questions, reviewing material, and staying organized. Mid-semester can sometimes feel long, but this is where strong habits make the biggest difference.

LCs can support students by encouraging routines, checking in on progress, and celebrating effort.

Spring is just around the corner, bringing fresh energy and a chance to refocus. Let’s use this time to stay motivated and carry that momentum through the weeks ahead.

🐟 1️⃣ Business Challenge – “Build Your Own Big Catch”

Got an idea that could change the world—or at least make life easier?

Maybe it’s:

A brand‑new product

A better solution to an everyday problem

Or a fun twist on something that already exists

Your pitch should explain:

What your product or service is

Why people need it

How your business will fill that need

This is your chance to create the next big fish in the business world!

🐠 2️⃣ Social Challenge – “Solve a Problem in Your Pond”

Want to help your school, your neighborhood, or your community?

Create a business idea that tackles a social or community issue such as:

Safety

Environment

Health

Helping others

Your pitch should explain:

What problem you see in your community

Why it matters

How your idea will help fix or improve it

Be the fish that makes waves for good! 🌊❤️

🎤 Your Big Splash: Pitch Your Idea!

When your idea is ready, it’s time to send it swimming into the Fish Tank.

🎥 Record a 30–90 second video including:

Your idea

Your enthusiasm

Your voice

No fancy editing needed—just YOU!

(Think of it like sending out a message in a bottle… but cooler.)

Because amazing things happen when you take the plunge!

Show off your creativity

Build confidence

Practice speaking like a pro

Solve real‑world challenges

Create something totally your own

OHVA FFA Living to Serve: Virtual Get-Well Cards for Veterans 🌽

OHVA FFA members are proud to share that we are creating and sending virtual get-well cards to veterans currently in the hospital. This small gesture is our way of saying thank you to the brave men and women who have served our country. This project truly reflects our FFA motto, “Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve,” as students put service and gratitude into action. Students are designing heartfelt messages filled with encouragement, appreciation, and well wishes. We are honored to support our veterans and brighten their day in a meaningful way!
