Glenview Middle School has been all a buzz with activity and our GATORS are BUSY! From after school activities and athletics to skate parties and dances - we have had a GATORIFIC Quarter 1! Check out pictures throughout The Gator Gazette of all the FUN!
We are on to Quarter 2 and students did a great job of transitioning to their new schedules. We encourage students and families to discuss GMS daily class lessons and all of the exciting things they are learning about. These conversations can create great gains in your student/s learning by supporting a...
- Deeper Understanding and Retention of information: The most significant benefit is often for the student who is sharing or explaining a concept clearly. When doing so, one must organize their thoughts, identify knowledge gaps, and structure the material in a way that makes sense to others, which leads to increased understanding.
- Increased Confidence: Daily conversations can boost the student's confidence in their knowledge and abilities.
- Lasting Development of Essential Skills: Your student/s will hone valuable skills like communication, critical thinking, organization, and leadership.
We are also saying goodbye to a success Fall Athletic Season and amping up for our GMS Winter Athletics with Basketball, Cheerleading, and Wrestling. If you have a student in any of these events and would like to share photos from games please email those to both khawley@emsd37.org and jroselieb@emsd37.org - We appreciate it!
Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences are just around the corner at GMS. The last day to sign up is this Tuesday and we are excited to see all of our families on Thursday, November 6 and Friday, November 7.
Sign-up for your conference using your Skyward Parent Portal (Directions Linked Below or Click the Picture to the Left). Conference times are 10 minutes per session / per teacher. If you feel you would need longer or would like to meet with a Team of teachers, please reach out to them directly through email to make accommodations.
Not interested in a formal conference? Please stop by GMS and pick-up your student's grade report packet during PT Conference hours this Thursday and Friday.
All Quarter #1 Grade reports - EL reports - Special Education reports - STAR Assessment reports - and last year's IAR report will be distributed at Conferences on November 7 and November 8. If you would like to see your GMS student's grades for Quarter 1, please log-in to OTUS to view. Your GMS student can also assist you with this if you need help.
