🦅 Sierra Middle School Weekly Words – Falcons Rise Together!
Important Reminders to Students
Behavior Expectations
Please be aware that we have a zero-tolerance policy for any behavior that creates an unsafe or disruptive environment in our learning community. Effective immediately, any student who engages in violent behavior—including fighting, bullying, harassment, or gang-related activities—on school property or during any LCPS-sponsored event may lose the privilege to participate in all extracurricular activities for the remainder of the school year. This includes, but is not limited to, field trips, sporting events, and dances.
No Cell Phone Policy
In our ongoing efforts to effectively meet student needs and prioritize safety and well-being, I want to remind everyone to reinforce the no cell phone policy at the start of each class.
Consistently mitigating the use of devices during instructional activities is crucial not only for academic performance but also for maintaining a safe and focused environment. Please make it a daily routine to remind students about this policy as they enter your classroom.
Thank you for your continued commitment to our students' success and safety.
Required School Supplies
Students are required to bring their laptop and charger to school every day. Please help your student to remember to bring them.

Therapy Dog Program at Sierra Middle School
Starting 2025-2026 school year, Sierra Middle School will be implementing a Therapy Dog Program to support students’ social-emotional well-being. Research shows that having a therapy dog present helps build rapport more quickly and effectively. The calming presence of the therapy dog encourages participation in activities that students might otherwise avoid, allowing them to develop critical social and emotional skills in a supportive environment.
Important Update for Athletic Events:
Message to Parents/Families
- Cashless Entry: We are now cashless for all athletic events.
- Payment Options: Scan the QR code to purchase tickets. Tickets can be bought in advance or at the event using the QR code.

- Transferring Tickets: You can transfer ticket purchases to your child via email. Please remind them not to redeem their tickets until they attend the event.
- Re-entry: Re-entry to events is not allowed.
Attendance Matters
The school year is off to a great start, and we are excited about all the learning ahead! To help your child reach their full potential, we need your support in making sure they attend school every day.
Every day matters—missing even one day means missing valuable learning opportunities. Research shows that strong attendance in middle school leads to greater success in high school and beyond.
Important Reminders:
If your child is absent, please submit a note or documentation for our records.
Students who miss multiple days in a row will receive a call from the school—and if needed, a home visit may be made to check in and offer support.
Let’s work together to build strong habits and help our Falcons soar! 🦅
Student Information Updates
Students are back to school and it is important that all students have updated information. This update allows them to access the computers, provide emergency contact information, and gives necessary health information to the nurses.
Below you will find the directions for updating the information on ParentVue. If you need assistance with ParentVue, please call our front office at (575)527-9640.
