Principal Message
Staff were excited to welcome back students this week. It was a short week or reestablishing routines and getting back into the business of learning. Friday, also Halloween which saw many students and staff dress up. Students participated in parade and an impromptu dance party. Thank you to the parents that also joined us especially those in costume!
An update on extra curriculars. Flag Football only had a single practice prior to the work stoppage. You may also be aware that Miss Weninger also suffered an unrelated injury. As a result we will not be continuing the flag football season, those who have already paid can contact the office for a refund or it can be applied to the next event/club that your student would like to join. Last year at this time we ran Grade 1-3 basketball club, that club has been postponed as a result of Miss Weninger's injury and other upcoming events. We will provide more information at a later date. Upcoming events that will be going ahead are our inline skating on November 13th/14th. Book Fair on the 25-27th and our ice skating afternoon in early December.
We are currently working on revised timelines for ISPs and Checklist meetings.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out by calling the school at 780-325-3858 or emailing me at alanstoy@gypsd.ca
Sincerely,

This week we did a coloring project - identifying colors with one minute to use that color on our Halloween page. The kids found this so fun - to color what they could before the timer went off!
We then focused on the number 3 during Art... we made spiders for Halloween but each leg could only have 3 beads!
We read Franklin books and kids had fun during Gym with the K-1 class.
Have a great weekend, see you next week!
Thank you,
- Ms. Y
