The Cub Hub

We are excited to host a Bear Creek VETERANS DAY Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11th. Our 4th grade students will be performing and selected 5th graders will assist with special readings. Due to the limited size of our cafeteria, we request that guests are limited to our 4th grade families, any Veteran of the US Armed Forces, and their families. Please look below for further details about this special day at Bear Creek.

This is a 4-day weekend for our students. Bear Creek Campus is closed on Monday. Monday, November 2nd is designated as a PLED Day. Staff have earned this day off through their asynchronous professional development requirements. Tuesday, November 3rd, is our campus professional development day. Staff will be on site to review instructional practices and assure that we are maximizing educational opportunities for your children.

Bear Creek is also a voting location for Travis County Voters on November 3rd.

It is hard for me to realize that once students return on November 4th there are only 28 instructional days left in the first semester. Please make every effort to have your children on campus these days. If your child is out for any reason, please communicate with your child's teacher as soon as you can. MAP middle of year Reading and Math assessments will be from December 7th - December 17th. Grade levels will communicate specific testing dates soon.

The Cub Run has moved to the Fall! Our Cubs will have their very own Turkey Trot this year. If you want to get ahead and already RSVP for this fun day, use this FORM to let us know.

My hope is that everyone has a safe and joyous Halloween.

Sincerely,

Theressa Lewis

Principal

How to help
Register your student at mybooster.com. Then share their fundraising page with grandparents, friends, and neighbors. Sharing helps as much as giving.

Receiving a RAVE nomination is so much more than a recognition—it brings pure joy to our dedicated staff and reminds us of the power of community. Every submission shines a bright light on the incredible team at Bear Creek, showing Austin ISD just how deeply our school family is loved and valued. Thank you for taking the time to uplift our educators and celebrate what makes Bear Creek so special!

The Molecule Masters are expanding their thinking through guided independent study. This is just one of many examples of how our Cubs are growing through extensions and connected learning. As our Cubs show mastery of grade level concepts and honor the daily work, we seek to open pursuits in high interest areas. Keep up to good work, Cubs!

Our relationship with our afterschool care partners is a tremendous lift for our campus. CDC Crew provides dedicated lunch support each day. This long term position has added so much stability to our cafeteria processes. Thank you, CDC Crew.
