We were visited in school this week by Deborah Myers, Head of Children and Young People, Education and Schools, at East Riding Council. It was a privilege to be able to show her around our fantastic school. Deborah was impressed by the children's warm welcome and by the hard work in every corner of school.

Class 1 have been making the most of opportunities to learn both inside, as well as in our engaging outdoor areas. As part of their Superheroes topic we wonder if anybody has completed the home learning challenge about making a lunchbox fit for a superhero? Class 2 have written instructions about making scones. They thoroughly enjoyed putting their plans into practice. We hope they were delicious! Children in Class 3 have been polishing their writing. It's impressive to see how only a few weeks in to term they can write at length using increasingly sophisticated vocabulary. Well done!

We raised a whopping £87.43 for Macmillan Cancer Support due to our Coffee Morning. THANK YOU to everyone for their support.

We encourage every child to read for pleasure. Our children read across a wide range of subjects every day and we ensure that the texts we use in school are high quality, interesting reads. Reading regularly at home for a few minutes is also important and fun. Our children can enter a raffle to celebrate their reading frequency. Look out for details about the prizes and draw in the near future. If you are interested in our work on encouraging reading for pleasure please speak with your child's classteacher or with Mrs Wood.
