Attendance Codes

Attendance codes will be added into PowerSchool for each year. ODE recommended attendance codes that will apply to COVID-19 situations – three will be incorporated based on the outcome and created. Carrie Bunger will communicate to Staff and Schools. Parent call in to inform school. If parent does not contact the school, it is unexcused.

1. Code 15 - Temporary Internet Outage – Excused –Technical Difficulties

2. Code 16 - Technical Difficulties - Problems with passwords or can’t get to the right schoology course or user error.

3. Code 17 - COVID-19 Quarantine –Student is exposed to someone who is sick with COVID-19, and they must stay home for 14 days. Healthy students who are under quarantine or isolation should be given the ability to participate in educational activities to the fullest extent possible.

Data Issues

Name and birthday changes will require a scanned copy of the birth certificate in PowerSchool.
Checking the Student Search Engine is paramount due to the amount of duplicate IDs. - http://sis2/enroll
Be sure that seniors have the correct attendance code (not **).
Remember to fill out the FS tab - especially the Admission Reason
Verify student address updates, ensuring a valid proof of residency is uploaded into PS CPS Proof of Residency Form

Meetings are mandatory for Attendance Specialists and attendance will be reported. Principals/Administrators are copied as a courtesy but not required to attend.

Virtual Meeting Rules of Engagement

Log in 15 minutes prior to your meeting start time in order to troubleshoot any connectivity issues.
All please mute microphone upon entry.
Questions can be shared via the chat function and the EMIS Team will respond accordingly.
Sign in not required as it is captured in the Google Meet Transcript.
LaunchEd will provide contact hours based on attendance captured in the Google Exit form that will be provided during the meeting for Sign Out.

FY2021 EMIS Assignments

We have realigned schools and their EMIS representatives. While you can call any of us for help, we will be reaching out to you according to the EMIS Assignments for 2020-2021. As always, you can email EMIS@cps-k12.org.

One-on-one virtual training Available

These dates and times provide additional resources, specialized training, follow up and/or specific guidance specific to your role for EMIS reporting. This is also a great opportunity to get assistance to remove recurring Cognos errors that may be on your school's report. Appointments are available Monday, Tuesday or Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please book your individual training via the EMIS Training Appointment Calendar
