April Character Education Themes: Trustworthiness, including Honesty, Reliability, Punctuality and Loyalty.
This month, during morning announcement, we’re focusing on Trustworthiness, a key trait that helps children build strong friendships and succeed in school.
Week 1 - Honesty: Being honest means telling the truth and not pretending. Have courage to do the right thing. This week, try to be honest in your words and actions.
Week 2 - Reliability: Being reliable means doing what you say you will do and being someone others can trust and count on. This week, try to keep your promises and be a reliable friend.
Week 3 - Punctuality: Punctuality is being on time. It’s showing up when you’re supposed to, so others can depend on you. This week, try to be on time for your school and other activities.
Week 4 - Loyalty: Loyalty is sticking by your friends and family, especially when they need support. This week, show loyalty by being there for your friends and family, sticking by their side and helping them through tough times.
Week 5 - Being Trustworthy: Trustworthiness is putting honesty, reliability, punctuality, and loyalty together. This week, be trustworthy by showing your friends and family they can count on you.
You can encourage trustworthiness at home by praising honesty, setting a good example, and giving your child responsibilities to build confidence. Let’s work together to help our students grow into trustworthy individuals.
Thank you for your support!

Easter Egg Hunt for PreK
The Westbury Gents, a service club of young men at Westbury High School, set up a fun Easter Egg hunt for the PreK kids on Thursday morning. They came bright and early to hide all the eggs, and the kids had a blast hunting for them through the garden. We also loved seeing some of our old Parker lions!

Parker Families Enjoy a Special Author Event!
Last Sunday, several Parker families joined Ms. Hokanson for an exciting afternoon with the wonderfully talented author and illustrator Raina Telgemeier, joined by Scott McCloud, as they celebrated their new book The Cartoonists Club. The event was hosted by Blue Willow Bookshop, which has many more fantastic author events and programs coming up! Be sure to check out their calendar for future opportunities: https://bluewillowbookshop.com/events/calendar.
Happy National Library Week!
This week, we celebrated the magic of our library! From supporting learning to transporting imaginations to faraway places, our library is a space where Parker Lions explore, discover, create, and grow every day.
We’re excited to share that Ms. Hokanson recently attended the Texas Library Association Conference, where she connected with incredible authors, illustrators, and librarians from across Texas to bring back fresh ideas for our Parker readers. We’re so fortunate to have a library and librarian at Parker Elementary — only 70 out of 274 schools in our district can say the same!
A huge thank you to our amazing Parker community for always championing literacy and supporting our library programs. Thanks to your enthusiasm, we had our most successful book fair ever! Your support helps keep our library thriving and our students excited about reading.
Thank you, Ms. Hokanson for creating such a cozy, welcoming space for all our Parker Lions to learn and grow! 🦁📚💙
