WRITING ACROSS CONTENT AREAS WRITING ACROSS CONTENT AREAS

We are thrilled to share how our students have jumped right back into learning after Thanksgiving break! Their enthusiasm and dedication to their studies continue to shine, and we are so proud of their progress. Across all grade levels, students are creating impressive written pieces that integrate multiple content areas, showcasing their growing skills and curiosity.

In our youngest grades, kindergartners and second graders are truly embracing the role of scientists as they engage in writing activities that connect to their studies of the world around them. Our kindergartners are learning about the sun, and they are documenting information that ties together what they’ve already learned with new discoveries. Similarly, second graders are exploring habitats and sharing their newfound knowledge by incorporating nonfiction text features—such as labels, pictures, and diagrams—into their writing. It’s incredible to see these young learners effectively communicating their understanding of complex topics!

As students progress to third, fourth, and fifth grades, we continue to see meaningful connections between reading and writing. Third and fourth graders are diving deep into story elements—such as characters, setting, rising and falling action, and problem and solution—by crafting their own realistic fiction stories and personal narratives. They are not only honing their writing skills but also developing a greater understanding of storytelling and narrative structure. Fifth graders are taking their reading to the next level by analyzing texts and drafting thoughtful literary essays. Their ability to critically engage with what they’ve read and express their ideas in writing is truly impressive.

We are incredibly proud of how our students are writing across content areas. Their creativity, curiosity, and academic growth are evident in everything they do. We look forward to seeing even more progress as the school year continues!

LEGEND FOOTBALL TEAM HEADS TO STATE LEGEND FOOTBALL TEAM HEADS TO STATE

The Legend Football team is headed to their first State Championship appearance in school history on Saturday, December 7th at 6:00 pm at Canvas Stadium. The Titans are one of four teams in the State of Colorado to play in the CHSAA Football State Championship game since 2018. The Titans will take on the Cherry Creek Bruins. We are excited for our Titan community to come together and show up in Fort Collins as our football program looks to make history.

Legend Athletics is sponsoring a spirit charter bus for Legend Students. Students can purchase a spirit bus ticket for $10 and this will get them admission to the game and roundtrip ride from Legend to Fort Collins and back to Legend. The bus will depart for Canvas stadium at 3:30 pm from the front of the school by the flagpole. We must have at least 50 students take advantage of this opportunity for the bus to run.
