π¨DCP-REDFORD | IMPORTANT ATTENDANCE NOTICE
SUBJECT: INCREASE IN LATE ARRIVALS & EARLY DISMISSALS
Dear DCP-Redford Parents and Guardians,
We have observed a concerning increase in the number of scholars arriving late to school and being dismissed before the end of the instructional day.
Consistent, punctual attendance is an expectation, not an option.
Our school day begins promptly at 8:05 AM, and dismissal is at 3:30 PM. Scholars are expected to arrive on time, in full uniform, and remain in school for the entire instructional day.
LATE ARRIVALS
Arriving after 8:05 AM disrupts classroom instruction and causes scholars to miss valuable learning opportunities. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring their scholars arrive at school on time each day.
EARLY DISMISSALS
Early pickups have become a growing concern. Removing scholars before the end of the school day interrupts instruction, classroom activities, and school operations.
Please be reminded of the following expectations:
- Early pickups end promptly at 3:00 PM. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- Scholars will NOT be called down to the Main Office for early pickup until the parent/guardian has physically arrived at the school and completed the required sign-out process.
- Parents/guardians must report directly to the Main Office and present proper identification when requested.
- Calling ahead does not authorize a scholar to be removed from instruction or held in the Main Office awaiting pickup.
- Medical appointments and personal obligations should be scheduled outside instructional hours whenever possible.
- Early dismissals should be reserved for necessary or unavoidable circumstances.
- Repeated late arrivals and early dismissals will be monitored and may result in administrative follow-up.
PARENT ACCOUNTABILITY & ATTENDANCE EXPECTATIONS
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring their scholars receive the full benefit of their educational experience. Repeated tardiness and unnecessary early dismissals contribute to lost instructional time and may negatively affect academic performance and attendance records.
Effective immediately, all families are expected to make the necessary adjustments to comply with our established attendance and dismissal procedures.
These procedures are in place to protect instructional time, maintain scholar safety, and ensure the Main Office can operate efficiently during the school day.
We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to maintaining a structured, safe, and academically focused learning environment.
EVERY MINUTE MATTERS. EVERY SCHOLAR COUNTS.
π¨ URGENT: PAST DUE IMMUNIZATION REMINDER π¨

π΄ FINAL REMINDER β IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED!

Contact your scholarβs physician to ensure all required immunizations are current.
β
If your scholar needs immunizations or a waiver, contact the Wayne County Health Department.
β
Submit all updated immunization records or waiver documentation to the DCP-Redford Main Office immediately.
