Principal's Weekly Update #30

Dear Wales Families,

This week's NYS ELA assessment went smoothly. We will be administering the NYS math assessments on 4/30 and 5/1.

We still have several fire drills to conduct. We hope to complete them over the next two weeks, weather permitting.

A message from your PTO :

The flower sale closes on Monday. Be sure to order your hanging baskets for mother's day- they are beautiful and a perfect gift! Yo u can find the order information on our website. Last year I bought 1 for my mother and 4 for my deck- they were so full and lasted all summer!

Hi everyone, as the year comes to an end we want to show our appreciation for the staff for all they do. Please consider contributing to Staff Appreciation week per the sign up genius. Your support is greatly appreciated. Food or other donated drink items can be placed in the vestibule. For any gift cards, please place in an envelope with it addressed to the PTO and put your name on it and give to Candy in the office or send in with your child to give to their teacher.

🍎Ms. Urquhart needs parent/guardian help to prepare for this year's Art Show!

Set up dates prior to the Show: Primarily, help is most needed for prep on 5/14 and 5/15. If volunteers are also available on 5/7 and 5/8, that would be appreciated as well! Helpers are needed anytime between 9am and 3pm for at least an hour - please note what time you are able to help in the comment section when you sign up.

Day-of helpers: Help is needed to set up on the day of the Show, 5/16, starting at 9am.

🥰Mother's Day is coming soon. We have several ways you can get meaningful gifts for your families while supporting your school: Square 1 Art and our annual flower sale, which is coming up soon. My favorite gifts from my children are the mugs or items with my kiddos artwork on them. You can order fun options with the link below for Square 1 Art. They are perfect for Mother's or Father's day or birthdays! Hanging baskets and flowers will be delivered before Mother's Day, making them the perfect gift. The hanging baskets are bountiful and beautiful!

News and updates from the PTO:

PTO still needs volunteers to fill indispensable position vacancies on next year's PTO Board. A Co-President and Fundraising Chair volunteer is required for the PTO to continue to offer next year's students all of the events and activities it supports. Voting will be held at the 5/1/25 PTO meeting - this is a current need! Please check the flyer sent home from school for more information about this need and the role of the PTO in our school community.

Please join High School Character Counts Club for the 4th Annual Miles for Mental Health Walk-a-Thon. The event will be held for main campus students/faculty on Friday, May 16th and open to all community members on Saturday, May 17th from 12pm-2pm on the Athletic Complex.

T-shirts designed by 12th grader, Danielle B are now available for purchase through Custom Ink until Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025. All proceeds are donated to the Rural Outreach Center in East Aurora. Please follow the link: Custom Ink t-shirt order form
