Where Curiosity Meets Creativity: The Early Years Innovation Lab
St. Luke's Early Years Innovation Lab invites students from PK3 through 4th grade to explore, take intellectual risks, and design without fear of failure in a nurturing, child-centered environment. Rooted in best practice and St. Luke’s commitment to innovative teaching, students dive into hands-on learning experiences designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
The Innovation Lab’s physical space is intentionally constructed to reflect children’s voices and ideas. It's more than just a classroom; it's a launchpad for lifelong learning. Student-led color experiments now decorate the windows, allowing their work to shape the environment. Materials flow seamlessly, encouraging cross-curricular exploration. Whether it's building a zoo, crafting signs, or bringing drawings to life on the light table, students blend literacy, math, art, and science in ways that are as joyful as they are educational.
Studies show that when children are given autonomy and opportunities for cross-disciplinary engagement, they become more invested and their learning deepens. Activities in the Lab foster both academic skills and social-emotional growth, including collaboration and critical thinking. Our Early Years Innovation Coordinator works closely with teachers and the librarian to design experiences tailored to each class's interests, ensuring learning feels personal and relevant.
In a world where 75% of future jobs don’t even exist yet, we’re helping students build the essential skills of tomorrow—creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking—through playful, purposeful exploration.
The Early Years Innovation Lab equips students not only with foundational academic skills but also with the mindset and adaptability they need to thrive in an ever-changing world. Here, children learn that innovation is not just about creating—it’s about imagining, connecting, and growing with confidence.

St. Luke's LIVE! - Saturday, September 27 - TICKETS NOW ON SALE
Please join St. Luke's Church for St. Luke's LIVE! An annual fundraiser hosted by St. Luke's Church on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Each year, the St. Luke's Church community comes together at the St. Luke's LIVE event to raise funds for the Church and its ministries. The designated 2025 ministry beneficiary for St. Luke's LIVE is the "Rebuild & Renew" Renovation Project, which will refresh and modernize the church parlors, kitchenette, and construct larger, more accessible Parlor restrooms. These sacred spaces have served the church well for decades - but they need renewal. With your help, SLEC will create a warm, welcoming, and fully accessible environment that reflects the hospitality, dignity, and love they extend to everyone who walks through their doors. This is an investment in the present and future of our church home.
