Fun Fair: Volunteers Needed Fun Fair: Volunteers Needed

zoom_out_map

May is here and that means it's time to get ready for Fun Fair!! Evergreen Home & School is excited for another fun (and free!) event and we hope you'll be able to help us "Pop Into Summer" by volunteering to help.

Volunteers MUST HAVE CLEARANCES on file with the school.

If you sign up for multiple time slots and they overlap with your child's class time, we will have coverage so you can step away to visit with them. Also, volunteers can bring younger siblings at no charge.

If you have any questions or if you aren't able to make your schedule work with the listed time slots but you still want to volunteer, send an email to carrie.homeandschool@gmail.com and I can help you out.

Thank you....we can't pull this off without your support!!

School Bus Tracking App School Bus Tracking App

zoom_out_map

PV is embarking on an exciting pilot and we would appreciate your input! Our transportation company, STA, is implementing Versatrans My Stop, a school bus tracking app designed to provide real-time updates for bus location and arrival time.

The app seamlessly integrates GPS technology to automatically update the current location of the bus, proving invaluable during inclement weather or traffic delays. Additionally, families can opt to receive instant notifications regarding any disruptions to the scheduled arrival time. With GPS data continuously updating in near real-time, the app ensures accurate information on the bus’s whereabouts, with the scheduled arrival time dynamically adjusted to reflect encountered delays.

The free My Stop app is available for both Android and Apple devices.

To view your child(ren)’s bus information, follow the steps below:

  1. Download the My Stop app by searching for ‘Versatrans MyStop’ in your app store
  2. Select Perkiomen Valley School District from the initial screen
  3. Log in using the following credentials specific to tparr@gmail.com:

The Berman Museum extends a special invitation to Perkiomen Valley School District elementary school students and their families.

Tuesday, May 7th

6 – 7:30 p.m.

Soak up the good weather with some good company on our front lawn! Families are invited to join us for an outdoor evening with art activities and tours.

Watch your kids’ creativity bloom as they unleash their inner artists in an outdoor craft. Grown-ups are welcome to craft, too!

Later, enjoy a relaxing evening with a leisurely tour of our Outdoor Sculpture Collection…or, for even more excitement, participate in a fast-paced, competitive scavenger hunt to explore the collection. Who can find the biggest sculpture? Both options offer a fun way for all ages to appreciate public art on the Ursinus College campus.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family. See you on the front lawn!

Note: All students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Siblings are welcome to come too!

zoom_out_map

The Green Team and Loss Group at Middle School East are co-sponsoring a certified butterfly garden and wildlife habitat that was designed by Master Gardeners at Penn State Extension. It will be located at the front of the school by the main office and include 3 benches and a picnic table. This garden is yet to be named by the students but will be a place to memorialize and honor people and events through a personalized brick pathway that will run through the middle of the garden. You can help us fundraise by purchasing a brick for the pathway. We are requesting all brick purchases by Saturday, May 4th.

https://4everbricks.com/donors/PVMSE/

Please email Dr. Clune (sclune@pvsd.org) directly if you want to sponsor the picnic table ($1,400) or a bench ($800) or be listed as a sponsor ($1000) on the sign.

Ensuring the safety for our students, staff, and visitors is a top priority.

It is important that students learn how to be safe. During April and May classrooms will review our various safety protocols. We will also practice the different Standard Response Protocols including the Hold, Secure, Shelter, Lockdown, and Evacuate safety drills. Student friendly and age-appropriate language is used.

Reminder: Physical Exams for 5th Grade Students Entering Middle School Reminder: Physical Exams for 5th Grade Students Entering Middle School

zoom_out_map

Just a reminder!! PA state law requires a medical examination for all students in sixth grade. It is recommended that this examination be performed by your family physician since he/she can best evaluate your child’s health and update immunizations. An examination completed on or after July 1, 2022 (up to one year prior to the student’s entry into sixth grade) will suffice. The physical exam report (distributed to all 5th-grade students ) is to be returned to your child’s school nurse by the first week of the 2023-2024 school year.

It is a good idea to make a copy for your records.

Please note: The PA Department of Health immunization recommendations for this age group include 1 dose of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap), and 1 dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV). These vaccines will be required for entrance into 7th grade unless a letter of exemption is on file.

Thank you!

Mrs. McOwen
