EJMS Jaguar Weekly April 20 - 24

EJMS Families,

We had a great week at school with On Demand Writing practice for 8th grade, 5th grade visits from Brookside and Warner, many athletic events, and the Sources of Strength Color Run. We have a busy six weeks of school remaining!

Repeat from last week - Fees from Chromebook Damages

According to the Chromebook contract that was signed at the beginning of the school year: Failure to pay fees may mean students cannot participate in school-sponsored events.

Please note: all school fees, including Chromebook damage replacement costs, must be paid in full in order for students to be eligible to attend extracurricular activities which includes field trips and dances.

Please make sure you login to IC parent portal and pay any outstanding fees on your child’s account. You can also bring money to the office to be applied to the account balance. Additionally, students will not receive a school loaner device unless you have arranged a payment plan or participation in the School Community Service Program.

KSA (Kentucky Summative Assessment) Testing

There are no excused absences for EHO days for East Middle students during the testing dates below. Please make sure your child is at school on time, well rested, and ready to test each day and try to avoid scheduling any appointments during the following testing dates:

6th grade - May 14th (Reading) and 18th (Math)
7th grade - May 11th (Reading) ,12th (Math), 13th (Science)
8th grade - May 11th (Reading), 12th (Math), 13th (SS), 14th (Editing and Mechanics & On Demand Writing)

As part of testing we will have a Good Faith Effort rubric (see below).

Students will earn a point for each item during each day of testing. In order to be eligible for Field Day students must earn at least 13/16 points for 6th grade, 20/24 points for 7th grade, and 27/32 points for 8th grade. Our Field Day will include many outdoor activities on May 21st.

Online Registration Open for 2026-27 school year

ONLINE REGISTRATION (OLR) is now open for the 2026-27 school year. Please help by going online and registering for next year. You can register your entire family at one time, even if children attend different schools in the district. OLR completion is one required step to ensure your child receives their Chromebook at the beginning of next school year without delay. Thank you in advance! 3. Log into Infinite Campus

4. On the menu click "More"

5. Click the last option is "Online Household Registration"

6. Complete the process there. When completed it will give you a confirmation number. No need to save that unless you want to!
