We will have our Monday Clubs, Show Choir Rehearsals, and 7/8 Singers rehearsal next week.

Students who are unable to find transportation home after the 7/8 Singers' rehearsal will be excused

from the rehearsal on Thursday, April 17.

Music 6 has continued the Melody Unit, playing xylophones, boomwhacker, and recorders. They are focusing on music literacy.

The Digital Music Lab used soundtrap to create an original rap.

The Vocal Power class performed country songs emulating the southern sound!

2025 Choir Elementary School Tour

Dear Emerson Singers and Musical Leads,

On Thursday, May 15, the Emerson choirs and musical leads will travel to Field, Carpenter, & Franklin elementary schools to present our spring recruitment program. This is one of the highlights of the year for the music department! Students from multiple grades will have the opportunity to hear the results of your hard work. Many of these students will be motivated to join 6th Grade Chorus, Show Choir, or the Musical! We are quite proud of the work you have done and look forward to this opportunity!

Here is the performance schedule:

10:40 - 11:00 Franklin

11:30 - 12:40 Lunch at Portillos (bring money to buy a lunch or bring your own lunch)

1:05 - 1:35 Carpenter

1:50 - 2:20 Field

Important Details:

On the morning of Thursday, May 15, you will report to homeroom and attend your first two classes as normal. At 10:00 AM, let your teacher know that you will be leaving for a field trip, then come down to the MPR. You will NOT be called down, so please be aware of the time. We will take attendance, warm-up, and load the buses for Franklin. We will then go to Portillo’s in Niles for lunch. Please bring appropriate payment for lunch. You may also choose to bring your own lunch. We will return to Emerson around 2:30 PM. Students will return to class and be dismissed from there.

Chaperones Needed

Due to the number of students in the vocal program at Emerson, we will need some chaperones to ride and supervise the bus. If you are able to join us for the field trip, please email tbroeker@d64.org and afong@d64.org and indicate your availability to chaperone.

Reminders:

Wear: Emerson music tie-dye shirts or school colors (red, blue, white)

Bring: Money to buy lunch at Portillos or bring your own lunch
