Principal Message
Dear Parents & Guardians,
The students have truly settled into their routines, and it has been wonderful to see classrooms filled with energy and learning. With the weekend ahead beginning to feel more like fall, I hope you find time to enjoy the season—whether it’s exploring a corn maze or picking apples.
Open House – September 25th
We are excited to welcome you to our upcoming Open House on Wednesday, September 25th from 6:00-7:30PM. Please note that schedules are different for grade 5 and grade 6, so be sure to review the details carefully. This is a great opportunity to learn about your child’s day and visit their classrooms. Grade 5 parents will enter through the main entrance doors and grade 6 parents will enter through the gym upon arrival.
Lost & Found
Our lost and found, located outside of the main office, is already filling up! Please take a moment to look through the collection during your visit. As a reminder, all unclaimed items will be donated at each vacation. The first donation will take place over Thanksgiving break.
Being Prepared for School
We continue to notice that several students are coming to school without being fully prepared for their day. Building consistent routines at home early in the year helps students stay organized and ready to learn. Please review the Wildcat Way to Start Your Day included in this newsletter and consider making copies for your child to check off each morning. Establishing this habit now will support them all year long.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
B.J. Martin

HARD AT WORK
Our students and teachers are hard at work, and learning is off to a strong start! One way we support student success is by providing flexible seating options in the classroom. These choices allow students to find the space where they can focus best—whether that’s at a desk, a table, or a more comfortable spot.

WCS Student Council
Student Council
Windham Center School
Put your leadership skills to the test! Run for WCS Student Council.
What is the student council? The student council is made up of elected students. These representatives help share students' ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and school administration. They also help raise funds for schoolwide activities, including social events and community projects, helping people in need and school reform.
The WCS 5th and 6th grade student council commits to meeting during their lunch and/or recess period 1 X per month.
If you are interested in running for student council, please plan and prepare a speech with some original and insightful ideas to help the school and community. Here is a site for helpful tips for writing a student council speech. Speeches and elections will be held during ROAR on the week of September 22nd.
For student council related questions, please contact the student council advisors.
