Dear Families,

Welcome back to the 2025-2026 school year! We are so excited to report that our first two weeks have been wonderful. Students came back ready for work and played hard during recess. The building is full of laughter, love, and learning. I love seeing all the work our staff is doing to reteach routines and expectations and the special effort they've put into welcoming new families to Weaver Lake.

As I walked around the building, I noticed some small projects that were completed during the break and even just two days ago. These small projects made me think of the value of small acts of kindness, love, and compassion for one another. The value of a smile can't ever be overestimated—or a high five or a hug given by an elementary school student or staff member to a student. Life is full of small acts rather than grandiose events. This does not mean that we are not looking forward to the construction planned for next summer, which includes the remodeling of the media center and a new outdoor learning center. But big events do not happen daily, while small ones do.

Please make time to read to your child(ren) every night. Also, make time for eating together and visiting family and friends. Take a walk around the neighborhood so your child(ren) can see you interacting with and being kind to your neighbors. Little acts add up and become an amazing and beautiful movement that will transform our community, our school, and even the entire world. Little acts such as picking up a candy wrapper from the sidewalk send a strong message that we are taking care of our environment.

I look forward to another year of working together, supporting each other to help our students learn. It will be a strong year using our STEM theme to lead our school to a year full of small acts of kindness, love, and compassion.

Sincerely, Ronald

Small Projects around Campus

  • Playground: New rubber pads were installed to keep mud away from the building and help our little ones reach the swings.
  • Outdoor Learning Space: We replaced some of the old wooden benches on the west side of the building.

Early Pick Ups Early Pick Ups

Tips From the Front Office:

When picking up your student(s):

  • Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow enough time for students to grab their belongings and make their way to the front of the building.
  • Press the doorbell to notify office staff that you are here to pick up your student(s) and inform them who you are picking up.
  • Completely fill out the release form on the table and place it in the basket while you wait for your student(s) (If teacher is unknown, you may leave that blank). If you are picking up multiple students, you may put all students on one release form.
  • Students will be called when their parent/guardian arrives at the school. Students do not sit in the office to wait.

These are the times for the Color Run on September 26th. Families are welcome to come watch! Please just head straight to the baseball diamond at the back of the school, no need to check in at the office. If it rains, please be advised that changes may be made to run times, as the run will need to move inside to our gym.
