Message for the Week: Message for the Week:

    Message from Mr. Tejkl

    Overcoming Change...

    Good morning!

Happy Sunday and weekend to you all! I hope you are having a fantastic morning and that your day allows you to enjoy the day however you see fit! Thank you again to all of our staff, students, and patrons for an amazing homecoming week! It takes a lot of effort from everyone and it is amazing to see everyone come together for a fun week! Also, thank you to all of our supporters at the many events that we have for our students! Your presence goes well beyond just being there as the students and coaches/sponsors notice.

As we head into October, we are nearly wrapped up with the first quarter of school and with that presents the challenge of reflecting and possibly adjusting. How are things going in the classroom? How about in your personal life? Are there things you want to change moving forward? Is there something that is going good but could be pushed one more percent to enhance it further? We all can ask ourselves this question and take it from a surface level to a deeper level.

Change can be tough. The power of flexibility is a very underrated trait that we all can continue to improve in. Some times, change is inevitable and out of our control. Other times, the site of change can have us build up a wall and see no way around it. In these times, the power of reflection goes a long way. The path may not be easy or exactly what we want or envision, but in the end, giving it a chance is more than half the battle. We took chances with change at the beginning of the year with curriculum and most recently with Homecoming. There are and were a lot of great things that came out of that. Are there somethings that can be changed a little more or not tried again? Absolutely...but it takes the power of flexibility and the courage to give it a shot.

I challenge you this week to face adversity and not throw up the challenge flag or the white flag. Sit, reflect, discuss, and put into action.

Have a great rest of your Sunday and I will see you tomorrow!

Quote of the week to reflect on:

"The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new!"

    Socrates

    Sincerely,

    Tucker Tejkl
