Our Spring Dance Recital has long been in the works; we're so excited to share the news with you! Our recital theme for 2026 is Once Upon a Time! Once Upon a Time is an exuberant dance celebration of fairy tales, fables, legends, myths and storybooks brought to life through movement, music and wonder. Get ready to become part of the magic as the new year unfolds!

We will share a "Recital Information Packet" on our website at the end of January.

Teachers will be sharing the songs and the costume book for their recital dances when we return from the holiday break! Costumes are on the way and will be distributed to dancers over the next several months. Costumes should remain in the garment bag they arrive in until dress rehearsal.

Each family participating in Intro to Dance and up is assesed a Spring Dance Recital Production Fee of $70.00 for the first dancer (+$20.00 each additional dancer). This fee includes dress rehearsal, performance day activities, a recital themed t-shirt(s) and a link to download a professional recording of the recital. This fee will be charged to your account on 1/21/2026.

All dancers performing in "Once Upon a Time" receive a recital t-shirt as part of the Production Fee. Please watch for an email in January to order the correct size shirt! If we do not receive a response, we will order the shirt size corresponding to your dancer's costume size.

Dance It Up! prides itself on giving multiple performance opportunities without the pressure of being on a competitive team. Through Dance Jam, Creative Connections, Hip Hop It Up!, Ballet Variations, Junior Ballet Ensemble and the Ballet Repertory Ensemble, dedicated dancers are able to balance schoolwork while nuturing their passion to perform.

Our World Is Dancing! is our annual showcase of Performance Groups. This show features our performance groups who work on extra choreography throughout the year in a special night of talent and fun! Watch your email or our newsletters for ticket information in the new year. These dancers LOVE to perform!

While they don't participate in the "big recital," our youngest dancers have a very special event to celebrate their year of dance! The Dance 'N Play Party Class. Save the date for your special Party Class event! Party Classes are on the same day as your regular Dance 'N Play® class - on Tuesday, June 9, at 9:30am, or Saturday, June 13, at 9:00am.

Dance 'N Play® dancers are also welcome to attend our recital costume photo day, Saturday, June 6, at Sutton Memorial High School.

We're so proud of all of our performers in this year's wonderful production, and we know that some of you are already thinking ahead to next year. Announcing 2026 Nutcracker Auditions to be held on Wednesday, June 10, 4-8pm at Dance It Up! Specific times by age group and genre will be announced in the coming months. It's just one of the many fun dance opportunities we have planned for dancers, ages 5 (entering kindergarten) and up, in the new year. Hope to see you there!

• We are bringing back the popular 1/2 day mini camps for ages 4-11 with 10 great themes offered in morning or afternoon sessions, with the flexibility to choose a full day of activities, with a supervised lunch and movie break.
• Check out the 2025 music video from Pop Star Camp for ages 8-12. We are ready to choose a new song and spend a week of full day camp creating another amazing music video!
• Weekly classes in Dance 'N Play and Summer Sizzle for ages 2.5-6 are a great first dance class experience or a creative way to spend a summer day!
• Weekly classes in FUNdamentals of Jazz & Contemporary for ages 7-10 allow dancers to express themselves through lively jazz combinations with upbeat music of today. The use of space, timing, alignment, and rhythmic sensibility will be explored through floor work, combinations and improvisation in contemporary dance.
• NEW! Modern Dance Choreography Lab, an exploration in movement and expression, for ages 10+, will be offered as a weekly class. This class invites students to experiment with creating their own dance phrases, fostering both individual and collaborative creativity through guided improvisation and composition exercises. Participants will delve into the creative process behind choreography, learning how to translate ideas, emotions, and stories into dynamic performances.
• NEW! At the Barre and Beyond is a weekly ballet course for ages 10+. Dancers will focus on developing technical skills essential to the art of ballet. In addition to focusing on technique, the course also provides enrichment through the study of dance history and composition. This approach allows students to gain a deeper appreciation for ballet as both a historical and creative discipline.
