Eagle Eye Newsletter
August 7th Edition
Welcome Back Taylor Eagles!
Welcome back! It was so wonderful seeing so many familiar faces at Open House, catching up after the summer, and feeling the school come alive again.
A Warm Welcome to Our Newest Eagles
To all the new families joining our community this year: a huge, heartfelt welcome. We are thrilled to have you with us. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything as you get settled—we’re here to help you find your footing.
Off to a Great Start
A special shoutout goes to our newest, youngest learners! Our kindergarteners are settling into their daily routines remarkably fast. Seeing their courage, big smiles, and excitement over these first few days has brought so much joy to the building and set a wonderful tone for the entire year.
Thank you for being such an active, supportive part of our school family. We are so excited for the year of learning and growing ahead together.
Stay in the Know
Take a look at our schedule of events for the upcoming weeks. Don’t forget, you can always find our full calendar on the school website.
- August 26th & 27th - Registration for Family Literacy Classes
- August 27th - Curriculum Night
- August 28th - Popsicles in the Park
- September 4th - Local School Council
- September 7th - No school in observance of Labor Day
Lunch Visitors
To help us establish strong routines and support a smooth start to the year, we kindly ask that no lunch visitors come until after Labor Day. The first 20 days of school are critical for building classroom community, practicing procedures, and helping students gain independence. We appreciate your understanding and support as we lay the foundation for a successful year!
Morning Arrival Reminders
In the morning, the car rider door closes at 8:35 am. After this time, please park and walk your child to the school entrance for check-in. Our late bell rings at 8:45 AM, students arriving after 8:45 will be marked tardy. Please park in marked spaces only. This ensures traffic flows easily and keeps the pathways clear for our school buses!
To keep our students safe, children may not walk to or from the parking lot unattended. If you'd like to walk with your student, please feel free to park and accompany them all the way to the main entrance!
We have transitioned to our regular drop-off routine, meaning parents will no longer be able to escort students into the building during arrival.
School Supply Lists
Our school supply lists are available to help you prepare for a smooth and successful first day. Lists are organized by grade level and include everything your child will need in the classroom.
Find the lists here: https://taylores.gcpsk12.org/for-parents/school-supply-list
Thank you for making sure your student is ready to learn!
Curriculum Night
Curriculum Night is an important evening for families to learn more about what your child will be learning this year. You'll hear directly from teachers about classroom expectations, daily routines, and how you can support your child’s success at home.
This is a valuable opportunity to build a strong home-school partnership right from the start.
We encourage all families to attend!
