Responding to Student Engagement: A Focus on Student-to-Student Respect

Last month, all students at EMS completed our bi-yearly Student Engagement Survey. We celebrated our top indicators and are working with student council to overcome and build actions plans for our lowest-rated indicator.

Highest Rated Indicator: Learning is Important at My School

Highest Rated Indicator: I enjoy my Art, PE, and Music classes

Lowest-Rated Indicator: Students show respect for each other at my school

We elicit student voice to help guide our actions. The student council has worked to identify strategic actions we will begin to implement before the end of the school year. The two top-voted strategic actions are: #1: Student-led Respect Forms and #2: Teaching Respect and Kindness, schoolwide.
