Late For Lunch
Can a student actually be late to lunch?
You betcha!
Students are expected to report directly to the cafeteria for lunch.
Wondering why this is being addressd in the Weekly Update?
We have recently begun to have a problem with graffiti and some other destructive activities in our restroom stalls during 6th period, costing time and money for our staff. We will be putting extra emphasis on this expectation for the next 5 schools days with admin setting aside some instructional work in order to help monitor restrooms and hallways.
Students arriving more than 5 mintues after the lunch period starts that do not have a pass are subject to a minor infraction report followed by referral for not following school rules if the behavior continues. We understand that sometimes teachers hold students after class for a short time and send students to lunch without a pass so we are addressing this with our staff as well.
While all students need to report to the cafeteria for lunch they do have the option to get a pass to other supervised areas on campus such as Quiet Lunch or the Student Center/Media Center.
Please review this expectation with your children so that we can get right back on track taking care of our building and following school rules!
