CLEARWATER STEAM NEWSLETTER

Thank you for your continued support and partnership! As we head into our final week before Spring Break, we’re reminding students to stay focused and continue following our school-wide behavioral expectations. We’ve asked students to refrain from playing tag during recess and to demonstrate good sportsmanship while playing soccer and other games. Our admin and wellness staff will continue to be present and visible in outdoor areas to support a safe and positive environment for all. We appreciate your help in reinforcing these expectations at home as we finish the week strong!

The Perris Elementary School District Fun Run is a wonderful event that brings our community together. This year, for the first time, the race hosted a PESD Mascot Race! Our Dolphin (Mr. Santiago) did an incredible job, but unfortunately came in 8th place. The Enchanted Hills Panda took first. Who knew pandas were so fast? Even though our Dolphin did not medal, Clearwater did shine; congratulations goes to Draco Pettaway for winning 3rd place in his age category!

It was nice to see our families participate in this annual tradition!

It is National School Library Month and I'm encouraging everyone to add to the poll I have in the window; What do you wish was different about our library? and What do you love about our library?, and then basically we are just celebrating everything books.

It is also Poetry month. National Poem in Your Pocket day is during our break this year.
"During National Poetry Month in April, National Poem in Your Pocket Day shares the way poetry brings joy by simply carrying one in your pocket. When you share the poem, you'll bring joy to others."
I will have poems perfect for your pocket all month long. Come on by and pick one up.

Exciting News!

We are thrilled to announce that Perris Elementary School District will be hosting a Spring STEAM Academy! This exciting program is designed to provide students with hands-on learning experiences that foster critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Through interactive and engaging activities, students will have the opportunity to build new skills, deepen their knowledge, and explore various areas of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).

Spring STEAM Camp will feature a variety of enrichment opportunities, including STEM-based hands-on learning, arts experiences, social-emotional learning (SEL), and project-based learning (PBL) projects. Students will also have access to a range of activities such as arts & crafts, dance, yoga, sports, STEM challenges, and other outdoor experiences. Each day will be filled with fun and engaging opportunities for students to explore their interests in a supportive and creative environment!

🚌Transportation will be provided to and from home school.

📅 Dates: April 14 - 17 and 21 - 24, 2025
📍 Host Site: Perris Elementary School.

⏰ Student Hours: Morning Session: 7:30 AM - 12:00 PM - Extended Day Session: 12:00 PM - 4:30 PM (Hosted by Elevo)

There is so much learning going on every day at Clearwater - we don't want our students to miss a moment! As much as we like long weekends, missing a Monday or a Friday can have a big impact on students' achievement. We want to see every student at school, every day. Students earn Splash Cash for attending school each day, and DOUBLE the Splash Cash if they are at school every day for the week - including Monday and Friday.
