Happy Thursday! As a reminder, students are out of school on both Friday, February 14, and Monday, February, 17.

8th Grade Parents:

We need to determine an interest in how many people would be committed to purchasing the 8th grade panoramic picture. We must guarantee a minimum of 40 purchases in order to book them. The cost is $35 dollars and will include TWO panoramic pictures of the 8th grade class and staff, a serious photo and a silly pose. No purchase necessary yet, we just need to know if we have enough people committed in order to secure the booking. PLEASE COMPLETE THE FORM BELOW

CMS students who may be interested in auditioning for the CMS, GHS or CHHS dance teams next year are invited to a free dance clinic at GHS on Monday Feb 17. There is no fee and no registration necessary, just show up at GHS with your dance shoes and water!

Every week our staff members have the opportunity to nominate one CMS Student to receive a Colt Pride Award. These students have demonstrated at least one of our Colt Pride Values: Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, Excellence! Way to go COLTS!

PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT SAVE THE DATE
Save the date for our next big fundraising event, our first annual Pickleball Tournament on Sunday, April 13th from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. More information will be coming soon!

STUDENT STAFF BASKETBALL GAME CONCESSIONS
CMS will host our annual Staff vs. Student basketball game on Thursday, March 13th.

This is where we need your help! We are asking for donations of items to be sold for concessions. They need to be individually wrapped items that are peanut and chocolate free! Sign up here, and send in your donation to the campus Learning Commons (library) no later than Tuesday, March 11th. Money that is raised will go into our 8th grade activity fund that will help offset our bus costs and any scholarships that we provide for students to go on the 8th grade field trip at the end of the year.

LOVE OUR SCHOOL LIBRARY
CMS is holding a digital book drive to purchase new books for the CMS library.

The campus budget for library books is only enough to purchase 25 books this year. A lot of that will have to be used to replace books that are lost or damaged leaving very little to purchase new selections.

In order to supplement the budget CMS is running a digital book drive where families can purchase books for the library. The books on this list are books that the library does not have in the collection. Many are new books from popular series and other new publications. They have all been reviewed and approved to be added to GCISD libraries.

Books should be purchased through the Bound to Stay Bound book drive site because this is a library book vendor and these books are intended for library use. They have more durable binding that holds up to repeated use, and they are already processed for our library with protective covers and stickers so when they arrive they can go straight on the shelves.

8th GRADE CELEBRATION
8th grade parents, please Save the Date for our first volunteer/planning meeting for 8th grade celebration on Tuesday, January 28th at 5:30 p.m. in the upstairs area of Market Street. We will be discussing the theme, ideas and volunteer opportunities. More information will be sent out soon and we will be posting on our 8th grade facebook parent group. 8th Grade Celebration is Friday, May 16th from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Compass Center.
