Dear Belton ISD Community,

I'm incredibly honored and humbled to be your new Superintendent. Thank you to our dedicated staff, the Board of Trustees, and our amazing community for giving me this wonderful opportunity. Together, we'll build upon the tradition of excellence that makes Belton ISD such a special place.

We have so much to be proud of: our strong academics, our vibrant extracurricular activities, our dedicated staff, and the strong partnerships we have with our community. Yet, like districts across Texas, we also face challenges. One significant challenge that we are working to address is a projected budget shortfall.

High inflation, slowing student growth, post-COVID lower attendance rates, reductions in federal reimbursements, elimination of federal relief funds, and no increase to the basic allotment are just a few of the challenges impacting school district budgets. To ensure everyone is well-informed, we're creating a short video that will explain the ins and outs of Texas school finance and what it means for Belton ISD.

We need your help! Please share your questions regarding Texas school funding and our budget through this form link. We'll address questions in the video to provide the information you need. The video will be emailed out to all our families and posted on our Legislative and Budget webpage.

I'm confident that by working together as a BISD team, we will make informed choices to navigate these challenges, always keeping the best interests of our students at the heart of our decisions.
